No no I totally get the Cold Steel rip-off (as well as all of the other kukri influenced rip-offs) are not accurately dimensioned, but I have seen several images and clips reviewing (and using) Nepalese Khukuris and there's no way that any of them were greater than an inch (25.4 mm) thick. I am personally shopping for a raw Panawal from Khukuri House, and they are 10.5 to 11 mm (only about 3/8 of an inch) thick, which is still quite thick.

Perhaps this Kukri is made in Pakistan. I wouldnt buy a Pakistani one though, or anything for that matter. I would buy the British Army issue Kukri, or a Nepalese made one. Pakistan is a failed country, and soon it shall fall with no hope for recovery. India will avenge the Mumbai attacks. perhaps the style of the pommel is Paki, but the blade is definitely a Kukri. Likely made in Nepal, as another poster mentioned. But I'm confused by the blood dipper ( the notch at the base of the blade ), Nepalese Kukris I've seen have a very different interpretation of the sacred cows hoof. Though I don't know how orthodox the kamis have to be when making these, as I am not Hindu myself. Nice cutter. Peace.

A Pakistan kukri is a lying shame and a contradiction in terms.
"Gurka" apparently means "defender of cows" and Pakistan is Muslim. They don't respect cows or people or much else. I mean LOOK at them, and what they did in Mumbai last month.
A Pakistan with a kukri is just a joke, even though they think they are equal to a Gurka soldier.
Its not only the kukri, its the strength and heart and honor of the man wielding it. Thats not something a Muslim can easily understand at all.

btw, i am a nepalese and let me tell you about the word 'gurka'. In ancient times Nepal used to ruled by many war lords controlling small areas, there were 49 warlords, everyone called themselves kings. A "king" ruling an area called Gorkha unified nepal and soldiers of nepal were then called gorkhali. It was the british who modified the word and it went become gurka ever since. I dont know where you got teh 'defender of cows thing'.

At a higher cost though. My HI Khuk was over a hundred dollars. I'd say this Pakistani Khuk, at $10, is an absolute bargain. You could use it on a trip and just chuck it afterwards it's so cheap.
