  • You can be happy and not afford milk says Bentley. Avenues!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need those jobs that bigots like you give to their crony unqualified friends and not to the people that are qualified and merit them.

  • Of course he's not worried about money, neither is this miserable state's legislature, they'll just vote themselves a pay raise whenever they feel like it, and the people here will just keep re-electing them. Alabama orchestrates its' own demise.

  • If there's any lingering doubt that Alabama's a doomed state, just listen to this lunatic and wonder no more.

  • bentley. hail satan. amen.

  • You fucking clowns who put this video together are the jerks. Robert Bentley is not a jerk. Get a life, you retarded clowns.

  • @meccaturbo Lunatics like this asshole are why we have a separation of church and state. When I am told to believe exactly what someone else believes - exactly the way they believe it or I will burn in hell - I have to ask when they began thinking they were God? Who gave them the power to pass judgement? I'm pretty sure passing judgement is God's job. I know it isn't this asshole's job. The right wing religous fanatics - like this freak - scare me to death.

  • "Through faith-based programs, we will ensure that each Alabamian is able to seek proper medical care and receive the basic necessities needed to sustain life."- Robert Bentley. Hey all this guy is evil and a progressive vote for Bradley Byrne. And for biggsaurora I'm not trying to be disrespectful I just don't care for progressive's.

  • @sierratangodelta I definitely do not see the churches lining up to pay anything, for anyone that is poor. I do see them building more huge churches with fitness gyms and tennis courts. Churches need to pay taxes too!

  • @sgtjoebear I volunteer at my church on Fridays. I see my church pay out money for utilities every day. We have a food closet that we use to supply food to people every day. If you're not seeing the churches doing it then you're just not looking.

  • @sgtjoebear Maybe megachurches, but defintely not most churches. Most churches do stuff for the poor all the time, you must not go to one.

  • @dmb1791 agreed yeah These MegaChurches, but this still does not change my mind that I think churches should pay taxes also. Also note, I did not say most churches lol but I do see where I did not narrow my selection down :)

  • @biggsaurora "Best thing you can do fo' po' people is to not be one."- Steve Harvey

I moved to Alabama because of the low cost of living. I'm poor and have worked my tail off to save enough money to become a land owner. I'm purchasing 5 acres of land to live on. I SAY AGAIN TO LIVE ON. Quit trying to sound so damn noble and I'd appreciate it if you and Uncle Sam would stop demanding that I all of a sudden have to much. You want to help people stop making them dependent .

  • The funny thing is, as much as you want to complain about what he says, it is backed up by social science statistics. And the thing about the Alabama budget is that there are already shortfalls, so cutting more revenue would be counterproductive, as would eliminating the tax incentives meant to keep the wealthy (employers) in this state. I don't know if anyone has thought of this or not but raising property tax would impact that family of five too, cause I am betting they don't live in an apt.

  • Funny how Mr. Bentley says on his website he, "...supports the courageous efforts of single-parent families to provide a stable home for their children."

Then turns around in the next breath and uses: "Children in homes without fathers are more likely to commit a crime, drop out of school, become violent, become teen parents, use illegal drugs, become mired in poverty, or have emotional or behavioral problems."

as an argument against same sex marriage. Nothing more than simple bigotry.

  • @MMOSound He is right

  • @MMOSound My Parents were sharecroppers and being poor has nothing to do with committing crime, most people are poor in Alabama because of some form of immorality ala. Unwed pregnancy, no work ethic or unwilling to work, etc.

  • @MMOSound Children in homes without fathers are more likely to commit a crime, drop out of school, become violent, become teen parents, use illegal drugs, become mired in poverty, or have emotional or behavioral problems."

WOW ur a tard.. he just stated a fact that is true

  • I wish they could be eliminated at the federal level so nobody had to suffer. I live in Virginia and while the tax rate is lower for groceries (half the normal rate of 5% I think) it still hurts to go grocery shopping. I moved to Philly for 2 years and despite the fact that I lived in one of America's largest cities and their tax rate on everything else was higher than VA's, it still ended up costing me less for food. In fact my cost of living ended up being the same as my small hometown in VA.

  • That's my homeboy! T-Town!! Roll Tide!!!

  • I've lived in Tuscaloosa for years, and you're a fucking retard for praising that sorry excuse for a representative.

Some legislatures (Mostly Republican) are for taxing groceries that EVERYONE needs rather than taxing land which mostly hurts (Oh gosh, the rich!!!) Now, I'm a landowner and I'm appalled at the fact my groceries are, for what they are, a necessity of life. So heavily taxed compared to other states. When my land is almost handed over to me.

  • @biggsaurora Hey Richard Cranium, landowners are not all rich. There are a lot of 50 acre lots with trailers on them. Secondly, Alabama has one of the lowest per capita tax burdens in the country.

  • @westmob Clever on the beginning. First of all, not all landowners are rich. But I can assure you, not all poor people have those 50 acres lot. But all of them have to buy food. And that's the point, quit taxing the necessities of life and tax things that are generally products of wealth. You wanna know how your "property tax burden" really reads? Alabama is number one in taxing the poorest in this country as well as number one in having the lowest taxes on the wealthy.
