what exactly is the point of this video just out of curiosity? 315 is not imprssive especially at your weight what are you like 220 at least lol..i dont get it?
@armandrulezz thats some gay comment i keep seeing from guys who cant even deadlift their bodyweight - 315 in deadlifts is not even much weight - and his form was close to super perfect so whats wrong?
@armandrulezz yeah im going to agree with every one else on this one. 1. his form is like perfect (trust me ive seen some bad form when it comes to dead lifting when i first start training some of my clients) 2. you cant get ripped and look decent without doing some form of heavy deadlift, because the deadlift and squat are the two best strength size and power building exercises. other than the Olympic lifts.
your form is great, don't listen to any of the haters hiding behind their screens that have been lifting for 10 years and not seeing any gains, keep up the hard work!
Head up, butt down, chest up, good control... I do not think there is anything wrong with this lift at all... good lifting, sir. Nice reps. I would use this video to illustrate a proper deadlift to anyone willing to learn.
OK form... just "sit" more... your hips should ALWAYS be the first thing to move up/down on a deadlift... if you can sit more or drop the hips more you'd have Perfect form and you'll feel it a lot more in your legs... but good speed on the lift... if you're wondering what i'm talking about watch olympic lifters hips... BUT then again if you're doing Romanians forget everything i said LOL
sofucking what. i can deadlift 425 for reps and beat the fucking shit outa your whole high school. whats your fucking point? everyone is at different stages. maybe this guy just started a month ago. it 6 months he could deadlifting 650 lbs. grow up fuckhead.
doesnt mean youre doing it the right way, which he isnt. in football they put a bench behind you about 15 inches off the ground and you have to touch it. then when u dont need it anymore u take it away but you go down just as low.
Actually your form is not fine just because you say it is. Sorry to burst your bubble but your ass should go down a good bit lower. like as low as a squat.
NO it shouldn't you don't know what you are talking about ! a deadlift is not a squat the ass should only go down as far as it needs to get the shoulders over the bar into the power position. Again the dead lift and squat are two very different lifts the ass should go low for squat but not so low in deadlift...and I do lock out at the top! I just do not hyperextend to exaggerate the lock out.
Then why aren't you following how he says to do it? This is a lower body exercise, and essentially you're using all back and hardly any leg on your lifts.
NO my posterior chain (hams, gluts, lower back) is doing most of the work in this lift. Dead lift is a total body exercise that involves the lower and upper body and activates about 70% of your muscles.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. The way you're doing them is putting more strain on your lower back than needed. You're rounding far too much, and not doing them as Rippetoe intends them to do. Downvote me if you want, but I'm giving you helpful criticisms here. Your legs should be going further down then they are, and there should be a LOT less movement from your back.
LOL his back isn't rounding at all. I have no idea what your looking at. Rippetoe says that your knees should bend only as far down as they need to in order to make the shins touch the bar. You're essentially contradicting everything that he said.
buddy, u obviouly know nothing. ok a deadlift definitely works your back a lot, maybe equally as much as your legs. but it is definitely al leg workout. and if you think that is proper form u need to do some research. bc hands down that is pretty bad form sorry
then perhaps you can post a video of yourself demonstrating proper form? im always open to different perspectives......and your right i do know nothing so post a video and demonstrate.
you are both right the deadlift hits the back very hard but also the legs but not as much as the squat. And my form is fine or I wouldn't be able to lift 405!
@roebuckk yes your form is fine and anyone who says otherwise can stick to using babyweights doing superslow controlled reps and never see any gains in strength. People try to act like they know so much on the internet but you cannot squat into the deadlift if you're going heavy, you can start off squatting but as soon as you lift that weight your form will correct itself because your body will want to lift the weight in the most efficient way, and squatting into the deadlift is not the way.
@john3047X deadlifting is a full body lift. it recruits so many muscles when performed correctly. read a fucking book. you're supposed to use some leg drive when deadlifting. his form is fine. you don't know shit.
@john3047X deadlifting is a full body lift. it recruits so many muscles when performed correctly. read a fucking book. you're supposed to use some leg drive when deadlifting. his form is fine. you don't know shit.
I have no idea where people get the idea that a deadlift is a reverse squat. I'll try to explain it to you...
If on the deadlift, you start out by putting your hips in the same place they would be at the bottom of a parallel squat, the barbell will move away from your body, which increases the distance of the barbell from your center of gravity. This will move the bar forward and make it next to impossible to maintain the normal curves of your spine with anything close to heavy weight.
I suggest that you research deadlifting. A good internet resource is tmuscle . com. I've learned things from that site, and you can, too. Maybe next time you'll be able to actually give GOOD advice to deadlifters.
@bigbossman120 Actually his form is fine. If you go as low as a squat, the back tends to round more. If you followed Starting Strength from Rippetoe or Madcow, you would know.
yeah but you should have seen them before I started deadlifting. However I am working on them by doing more squats. You got to remember that deads don't require alot of quad mostly hams and gluts and back.
you trying to trim some unwanted fat? keep training heavy while no cheating on the exercises and have only about 1 or 2 carb meals a day and take in alot of healthy fats
good form lad, and its arly doin slow reps as if u wnt the muscle to grow u want it to stretch and tear as where he's slow reps are workin more on gaining size if thts wht he want to do .
Good stuff, dont forget our muscles are built for speed u will gain a better responce with quicker sets and decent rest. Also important wear a weight belt depends on how much u love your back.
thanks i do speed reps with about 225 lbs and i never wear a belt or use wrist straps. a belt is only necessary at very high weight and max lifts otherwise it is better not to use one
Maybe some speed and you will get more power ? And when you drop bar back to ground, it doesn't have to be that slow and smooth. If you let it go more quickly, you will have more power to lift it up again. You dont gain no power when you drop weights. That looked easy btw :-)
Great lift!!
