Even so, it's not necessary for you to change in any way in order to be who you are. The reason that they're on them in the first place is because they were depressed and upset, and understandably so (war is hell). If you think you went to war for corporate expansions, then you were in for the wrong reasons. I get VA health care !00% paid for, almost, because I a wartime vet and don't make enough money anymore to pay for my own isurance. (I pay $8 per month per prescription.)There are provisions available to leave the military if it becomes too offensive to the individual. It is hard to put in for a general or medical or conscientious objector status when you are actually ON the battlefield however.

Theres enough space on here to be more accurate than that. Many drugs treat symptoms only, but others do Cure disease. Take a look at antibiotics. If you get strep throat which option are you taking- 1) green tea and bedrest or 2) a Z-Pak? I agree that drugs aren't always the best option, just like not taking drugs isn't the best option. Swinging too far one way or the other is a mistake.

Paxil is one of the more prevalent one's out there that I have first hand knowledge of through watching some family members go through the "I feel like myself again syndrome" . back in 2003 - 2004 my husband and i were based at Warner robins air force base in Georgia there were allot of suicides going on there among the military personal and if i remember correctly at least one spouse there was even a double murder in the on base housing, there were articles written about this in airforce times because of the high amount of suicides, the one repeating factor was alcohol not everyone had been overseas yet or been given any drugs

Unless marijuana is used to treat brain injuries and chronic pain, and people do not have this safe and effective medicine, then more wil die. Marijuana can reduce the need for opiates, not always completely but enough to reduce dosages of opiates and frequency. The 128 documented deaths in the military is only the tip of the iceberg. Injured workers suffering equally disabling injuries are dropping dead like flies. They have the added stress of tryng to get any treatment at all.

Their hands are tied because they know they can't take the pain away and are sending injured people back to their abusers. I say abusers because they are. Workers comp you know what I mean? Either way we are dealing with an insurance program that is continually trying to save money and it is the injured person forced to appeals and having medical care and wage loss benefits dictated to them that causes stress.

The fact that many injured military and private sector workers commit suicide is the "secondary wounding" caused by these assessments, appeals, delays, and outright denials. Take the insurance company factor out of treating the injured and then the doctors can do their jobs properly. Many people with brain injury (not to be confused with insanity) are already suffering depression, confusion, irritability,and more symptoms. An abusive process to get treated properly worsens these symptoms.

Add chronic pain that is not being treated properly to the confusion and depression and known psychologically abusive appeals proceses and anyone can tell this is a recipe for suicide. Pain, poverty, and stress inflicted on a person even though it is no fault of their own is unconscionable. Ok. I was suicidally depressed during my army years but we didn't have all these drugs back then. My main problem with the army was the total lack of control I had over my own life and the way the most idiotic pathetic people imaginable were ordering me around every day. I went to the first iraq war and saw a lot of things that nearly unhinged me. I was so close to wasting a couple of my supervisors and then killing myself that I'm amazed to be here today. Truly amazed.

2. Once I got out though and started working in a career that I was actually suited for, the depression lifted like magic. I realize now that there was nothing wrong with me. My problem was that I was dealing with an insane and destructive environment that I wasn't suited for. I feel for the guys in the Army now. They've got it many times worse than I ever did. I don't think I could have made it through what they're dealing with. I'd eat a bullet and be thankful that I had such an easy way out.

Actually the soldiers were great, including myself. Highly intelligent and talented. The "Seasoned" leaders tended to be losers who knew in their heart that they were pathetic and unable to get a decent job in the real world, so they stayed in. You must be aware of this. It's glaringly obvious to anyone who spent any time in the army.
