Polo wraps are good too if you get a horse that doesn't hit it's legs together, but could use the extra support.

Top barrel racer Fallon Taylor only uses polo wraps because they are cheap and provide tons of support!

I used to jump and I used totoaly different boots on the horses. I really didn't think they use the protection that barrel racers use. I think barrel racers use for better protection. I haven't seen a jumper use Professional choice?

Pro choice doesn't have it for only one thing. If you jumpers like hem also then hey there great splints and boots. But the person Charmayne james uses them and has her name on he products and hse barrel races. So thats probably why they think its for barrel racers only?

Because SMB (sprot medicince boots)protect our horses from tearing a tendon/ligamint and if you see combo boot which have bell boots the protect them from clipping the back of their heels with their other hoof

the design is for jumpers is all im saying, for example, the strap below the fetlock- thats to prevent hyper-extension; which is common in jumpers

Same problem can happen with a barrel horse as well as many other injuries that the boots can prevent...ask Brittany Pozzi-Pharr...2008 NFR Champ who uses them along with so many others...

The reason us barrel racers put SMB boots on our horses is because barrel racing asks alot out of horses and can be strenuous without the right protection.. and hyper-extension can happen in barrels as well s jumping. SMB boots were not just specifically designed for jumpers.. They were designed for the support of horses legs and injury preventer during times that strain and tension could be put on the leg durin any event. And barrel racing as well as jumping can both be strenuous on their legs.

I ride my horse western in barrels and i wear a helmet and when im not wearing it some times my horse wears it like when he is being weird and triping alot... (jk he only wears it for pics

@brittanylovespumpkin i know this is an old comment but i thought i would clear this all up.. hahah SMB boots are used to be used for horses that have a tore something in thier leg as a treatment so they could still compete. it started with race horses. although barrel racers use them because they offer tons of support!(:
