  • This is a very different version to the ones I know, but still so great! Love it!

  • Thank you for making my time at Cornell that much better.......saw a few incredible gigs at The Nines and Monrovian Embassy. 20 years ago....eeek!

  • LOVE EM!..saw them in Worcester MA..mmmm bout 11 years ago..damn they were great!

  • I first saw them taking teh 3 am shift at an all night square dance. Tehy awere an acoustic quartet, then. They were so different from anything else I had heard that I thought maybe someone put acid in the drinking water.

  • I was dancing my butt off in the poser pit at this performance. WOOOOHOOOOOO

  • i wish Life Is a Rubber Rope was on youtube

  • I was on my way back to the campground after a looooooong week ... thinking about some sleep ... then you started playing and stopped me dead in my tracks. Didn't think I could have possibly danced that hard ... but I did. So when are you coming to New Mexico?

  • I saw this band at (of all places) the Glass Art Society conference in Corning - They rocked!!! I wish they could have seen how many people were dancing to their music outside on the patio - just too nice of a night to be inside for most I guess. I bought two of their CD's that night for my studio but I am playing them EVERYWHERE. I can't wait until they copme back to Colorado so I can take my friends to hear this great band.

  • cool, interesting music with a groove.... i like it...

  • I heard them at Teluride in 2003 and freaked out over their incredible, unusual sound! Then, I heard them at The Boulder Theater New Years' Eve show in 2005/2006. We stayed at the Goden Buffalo hotel and the next morning at breakfast, we saw the band members in the restaurant and said "hi" to them. One of them actually paid for our breakfast without telling us! Wow! These are incredible musicians and incredible people! Got the DVD. Can't wait to get the new CD!

  • What DVD? I'd love a recording of their performances...

  • I just found the horse flies through submitting my band's information to some local upstate ny music websites. This is fantastic, interesting music which I am kicking myself for discovering so late.

  • I was at this show in Telluride, I believe it was 1987, they played in the evening and if you don't think I kicked up some dust...Yeah, they are wonderful. They played recently in Boulder, Colorado on New Years Eve at the Boulder Theatre-bringing in the year 2006. This song here is, of course, originally done by The Cramps, that good ole punk band of raunch and twang from the late seventies to the present. Looking forward to hearing they're latest 2008 release.

  • Tx for the ultra-kind words. A small correction ... this performance is from Telluride 2003, though we surely did play Human Fly at the 1987 festival as well!

    :--)

  • I actually think Judy's violin is mixed pretty well. Yeah it could be a little louder, but the overall mix is pretty well-done in my opinion.

  • Just great............

  • I just finished watching the Telluride DVD and heard the Horse Flies for the first time...YOWZAAA!!!! If this music doesn't make you move, there's no hope for you.

    Great stuff!!

  • too bad the fiddle is so low in the mix...

  • I love these guys! New album 2008!

  • Music is all about the groove. And they have it.

    WOW

  • sigh....a band I always have and will forever love since i first heard them :)

Thank you for posting this, hope i'll find more...got "into the nothing" or "sally ann" perhaps?
