  • im sooo confused about whats going on?

  • Great little experiment idea!

  • FYI

My beautician told me that you won't get much damage from a blow dryer. You will get alot of damage from a hot comb and from a flat iron.

She may be right. She may be wrong. Just thought I'd pass on the info.

  • Good idea! Thanx

  • Great suggestions. And definitely no worries!

  • It's so nice to log into my youtude acoount and see new vids from you. Yuo were missed nice to see you and that's a great idea. I haven't used a flat iron because I'm scared and that's a good way to test it out first

  • Good idea. makes sense to me!

  • I've tried that before and my few strands would not revert back. I'm like so long for thinking about straightening now.

  • maybe u can try less heat :)

  • yep cool! :-D

  • wow this is SMartttt

  • Good idea.

  • Good idea

  • makes sense

  • Wow i think that is a great idea, it couldn't hurt!

  • great idea!

  • awesome tip

  • Is there a way to straighten the hair without using heat at all????

I just don't want to risk it.

I read that heat protectants can only protect up to 150 degrees of heat.

  • I agree with you why risk it, but if you must sabino moisture block supposed to protect against 450 degrees.

  • @MyEpiphanies89 tbh i dont think there is but i saw a video that said use lottabody setting lotion on rollers and u get a semi str8 look it was by drjackijones

  • thank you seun0203!! i'll check that out now.

  • I LOVE this idea! I'm not sure if anyone's said this, but we should probably take into account the fact that many of us have multiple textures in our hair. Each texture might respond differently so we should probably test each region/texture.

  • I think you would need more than one strand. Because when you flat iron the heat is distributed hopefully evenly on a lot of diff hair strands. The heat of the flat iron to that one lonely strand cant really compete with one another..you know what Im saying??

  • That is an excellent tip. It should be pretty accurate since you are using your own hair.

  • Yes, this is a good idea for people who are very aprehensive. I'll probably save my shedded hair now....just to see how it works out! ;-)

  • hey rustic...is that the average amount of hair you shed during washes?? I havent seen alot of natural ladies address what is *normal* for them...so could you talk about your experience? ( i understand that as long as the bulb is still attached to the strand then thats part of the normal shedding process).

    thx!!

  • I must say that would be a great video because I'm always thinking that I'm shedding waay tooo much.

This is an awesome video, but I already have heat damage. Wish I was smart enough to think of that.

  • I love that idea..great job

  • very creative thought!!!

  • interesting suggestion.

  • GOOD TiP

  • That is an awesome tip, Rustic Beauty! You are always coming up with creative ways to manage your hair. Someone mentioned on their blog about your ability to *gently* remove a hair knot with a safety pin!

  • I agree. I tried that method with a safety pin and yes it does work!

  • that's a great tip...thanks for sharing!

  • nice
