  • Great song

  • What a great time when people were judged by there talent and not by some stupid polarity list.

Where music artist could look like shit but sing like gods.

When artists did beautiful music to send messages and not only to make money.

Those were the good old days.....

  • what a sad, sad world. 22 people dislike this video/song. how?? WHY?

  • @MsBloodRedLipstick cause they are def

  • it's really amazing how good their voices are

  • wow this is even better than Tyler the Creator!

  • fucking clapping at the start....go die.

  • #1 song the week I was born. not exactly coincidental it's one of my #1 songs :D Love this song & always did.

  • Loved this song from "The Graduate" and thats why i am here. =)

  • 22 people are so wrong. I was born in 1984. I wish I was born 30 years earlier so I could experience this music. This is music. two men, instruments and vocals. No "Boom boom"! My Late dad's favorite song. Love you dad and miss you loads. :-)

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever made

  • This song makes me sad. Reminds me of a man who taught me a great deal, including bringing me the knowledge i never knew existed. Common sense and mystery of what was and thoughts of things to come. I never knew of this song before him. We laid him to rest in the year of 2009. Rest In Peace my friend.

  • Fliptopia so true 1984 baby here. Music nowadays isnt buncha sell outs n garbage. Sad

  • There is a good reason to hit dislike on this vid. It makes you realise just what a magical time in music you missed out on by being born too late... At least I had the 90's before the internet took away all the enchantment.

  • oh my god... they were so young in this video... time is tick tick away ...

  • brilliant performance . the melody sounds kind of peruvian

  • I love this song.:)

  • ssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • good music transcends the generations...

  • Good music isn't dead, just harder to find. Back in the day you could find the greatest music around by turning on the T.V. or radio. Today you gotta dig deep, you'll find it. Just sift through the bullshit. P.S. Simon and Garfunkel are incredible.

  • fuck, i listen to this while im crying, rip good music

  • Such exquisite and perfect harmonies. Hauntingly beautiful yet simple guitar. And deeply moving lyrics. Truly one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

  • It's just amazing and unbelievable to see how two men and one guitar can project an excellent image, sing great and dress like men unlike the new generation of clowns who scream and smash guitars to hide their lack of talent.

  • @Feerulace You've summed it up perfectly.

  • GOOD MUSIC THAT WAS INFLUENCE TO ME BY MY PARENTS

  • I have only listened to TWO SONGS by these guys and already i think i like them better than the Smothers Brothers...

I bet none of the people at my school know who the hell Simon and Garfunkel even are, they're al into rap and so oblivious to all the classic musicians of the late 20th century. They don't know what they're missing out on

  • Perfect harmony !!!

  • wow awesome song for a zy time too bad ll we got ow is shit

  • jajajaja yo lo cantaba mejor

  • Perfect!

    In 2:10 she is a goddess :)

  • I normally hate the nostalgic comments because if you search there is still a lot of good and serious music nowadays, but what i really don't like at my time is the fact that people allways need to be entertained by a performance. Most can hardly imagine going to a non classic concert where you sit and listen. So you have to play load and without punctuations or pauses. That is killing the sound of silence.

  • 1:55 = Don Draper. (jokes aside, timeless song).

  • You are very gentle, people who dislike this just have garbage instead of a brain... the don't understand anything about talnt, about skill, about creating, they know nothing, I'm sure they just love facebook and msn and cellphones and they just think of nice cars; it's too sad, nothing like the 60's mostly in England, real music, real talent and real CONCEPT. I'm sure people who don't like this don't have music talent at all.

  • for those wont dont know..or actually never look at the description, you can see all of this song there>.>

  • i heard this on kingpin and had to find it

  • no not really it was showing on Rude tube so I thought I would check it out, but is there any meaning?

  • @PERSIANCAT88 yes, it's about people not listening

  • does this song have a meaning? I would love to know........

  • @PERSIANCAT88 Possibly. Something put you in a mood to listen to this?

  • @MrContendedSkorka yea right!??

  • best night ever was sitting around a campfire with me and a mate playing this song, and everyone else randomly harmonizing with us on the 'sound of silence' part (they didn't know the words), beautiful night, beautiful song.

  • these two guys below me are idiots

  • these two guys below me are a couple o fags

  • @Rocketman1337z go listen to some dubstep and shut the fuck up

  • J'adore cette chanson, c'est une prière du plus profond du coeur et ceci, j'admire

  • So simple a song, so complex the lyrics. A true classic.

  • Good Music is Dead

  • @deadmanAstroNubZz; pessimistic people are blind.

  • @deadmanAstroNubZz there is some pretty good music if you look past the mainstream pop crap, there are things like the arcade fire and sufjan stevens

  • @deadmanAstroNubZz i to feel your pain...god damn hip-hop/rap/pop!

  • @deadmanAstroNubZz far from it; there is a massive memory filter on old music, you only remember the good songs, so it seems like music used to be better than it is now.

  • @deadmanAstroNubZz How is it dead? You're listening to it right now, aren't you?

  • They don't make em like that any more

  • Check out Nemo Shaw singing 'The Sound of Silence' - just out!

  • Fucking serious stuff that that they could have sang it here in my room and be at same or even better quality than the released version... TALENT

  • this is live with a mike and a guitar. talent......

  • music industry Y U NO make good music like this

  • 21 people fell on their heads as children.....

  • This is absolutely my favorite song on the planet, it speaks to me like no other music can. It makes me think about my past and my old troubles in life and helps me get through new ones.

  • This is absolutely my favorite on the planet, it speaks to me like no other music can. It makes me think about my past and my old troubles in life and helps me get through new ones.

  • 21 idiots, who don't know anything 'bout music

  • @Psevero1 Your absolutely correct. Seems all people know is new age crap that has no meaning but only noise.

  • Paul had a godly voice.

And Art was the one who did the music behind the songs.

    Great team they were.

  • what a lovely hit.... Just Lovely... Many regards from Sri Lanka.

  • How do you go from this to the performance they did of this song at Monterey Pop in only one year? It's like they transformed from '50s mainstream into '60s counterculture overnight.

Youtube won't let me post the link to the Monterey video, but it should be in the "suggestions" if you're interested.

  • The best duo ever, their sound is timeless...

  • That's some whack hair.

  • @stigler30

that's the afro many wore back then, most because of, hold on to yor seat, the white folk singer bob dylan.

even jimi hendrix, who as a black man is perfectly for an afro took it as a tribute to bob dylan.

  • @ValkyrionxXx

nah, i guess 16 electric fanatics who don't know that the acoustic version is the best there is.

i HATE those folk rock instruments crammed into those wonderfull harmonies.

  • @ValkyrionxXx Either that, or 16 regular trolls getting off to what little attention you gave them.

  • @ValkyrionxXx why jonas brothers? you sir don't make any sense. this wasn't even funny. I do not like the jonas brothers but that doesn't make me talk shot about them for no reason. you really should be ashamed. this has been a comment. peace out.

  • Love how they are sharing a mic and everyone is just sitting watching. What a spectacle

  • i like it better here live, i dont know why.

  • ok i love this, i do. its classic, and great. but im sick of people calling it "the only real music" its YOUR music, and you like it better. we like OURS better, it's a part of who we are, like this was a part of who you were to some of you growing up. you insult it, you insult a big part of some of our lives.
