I think it's great that there is an effort to educate kids about teen pregnancy and letting them see the consequences. I think THAT aspect of the message is fine. BUT, the look on those kids faces when they look at their child, their own flesh and blood is one of disgust, regret and disappointment. Like having a baby is the worst possible disease one could ever catch. Then the kids mocking them from the limo. That message would scare a pregnant teen into having an abortion. Just my opinion.

I've known her father for years and we're getting married soon and we are doing just fine. :/ No, teen pregnancy should not be encouraged, but people should stop making it look like it's the end of the world. Family would be best, but from what I have seen, a girl who has her baby as a teenager does not usually have a supportive family, I hope you do. The Child Services of DHS in your state may also have things to help you and your baby. Keep your head up and focus on what is important for both of you. Sad thing that needs to be mentioned is these were kids, ages 12 to 14, who were seeing their classmates drop out of middle school due to pregnancy. This was their idea, their concept and unfortunatley their reality. I am pleased to say that since Midvale started dealing with this issue the rate of teen pregnancy has steadily dropped. We don't use an abstinence only based forum. Midvale uses an approach that deals with educating the entire family on consequences of engaging in risky behavior
