@CGuitar2112 Just ignore the MegaGenius guy. He spams just about every Rush video on YouTube with this mindless prattle for some reason. Anyways, love the video man. Geddy really rocked the house.
you did a fantastic job video taping this with a camera, very steady hand and knew exactly when too change scenes . hard to believe this was done with cybershot... excellent... of course Rush is great also..
@ryandevison its a paul reed smith (prs) custom 24 ... also the new lifeson les pauls are his first and only signature model although he has guitars he uses regularly like his es-335 and the prs in the video but those are simply favorites of his
Neil smiled during the first five minutes of the Detroit Concert, then was all business after that. Freaking brilliant musicianship. My respect factor just went off the chart.
this song always reminds me of the rio show and a great shot of 2 really hot Brazilian chicks dancing to the beat... greatest take of the whole show =]
This is a great video of them doing a great song like all of their songs are. Is anybody going to the show on april 15 in cleavland. I heard that in honor of the city that first played their music, they are going to record it and put it on dvd. It's also the first show filmed in the u.s. I'm so pumped! I'm getting their nice and early.
Geddy has got to be the best bassist ever, and Alex is probably one of the greatest and most diverse guitarists around. Of course Neil is the best drummer ever. I love this song so much. La Villa is there best instrumental, but this is right next to it
This is one of the most funkified versions of this piece I've heard them do. I love the total cohesion in the three of them plus the graphics. Love the funky guys in the video. Eternally (reference to the Time Machine Tour here) thankful for this upload. One of my faves. :)
i was able to see Peart's feet when i saw them last summer in Columbus. i think he may be a robot. anyone who doesn't realize his prowess behind the set doesn't respect drumming
@CarMan792 hey man, you should check out my rush concert recording on my channel...i'm working on putting the whole thing up, but for now i have up to "Leave That Thing Alone"....just a superb sound...this is some fantastic footage though!!
@CGuitar2112 - holy crap, i didn't know Sony made one that could handle the volume! almost sounds better than a ZS7 because the panasonic seems to turn the gain down on the microphones and the video volume comes out lower than this seems to be. very nice, but, i still don't like sony's proprietary software hassles associated with their cameras :-( it's also not cheap, but seems to be well worth it for this kind of result!
@ACELLOFAWARENESS It's not even a stereo mic setup, which is what still shocks me to this day! It does a really nice job of bringing the bass to the forefront though, as it does in this video and the stuff I record of my band playing. I got this one open box at Best Buy for somewhere around 250$ I think, well worth it and I'm glad I did my homework before buying it!
@davehall2397 probably trying to protect his hearing, i know a few guys who were big concert nuts for most of their life who are nearly deaf now because of the volume.
Thats why most professionaly musicans use earplugs onstage, they would be deaf after a single tour.
BEST BEST BEST I CANT EVEN DESCRIBE IT. EVERYTHING ABOUT THE VOICE, SYNTH, BASS, GUITAR, DRUMS, THE WHOLE BAND IS INCREDIBLE. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH THIS BAND TOUCHES ME IN THE MUSIC AND THE LYRICS THAT THEY MAKE. I GET GOOSE BUMPS ON ALMOST EVERY RUSH SONG. THANK YOU RUSH FOR MAKING MY LIFE THAT MUCH BETTER!
Sounded like Alex messed up a note at the very beginning of his solo, around 2:32. I could be wrong, but it sounded like a subtle screw-up that he covered up well.
@delgift it was my first as well. I am already suffering from abstinence and I hope to see them again in the future, even if I have to go all the way up to canada or the states. incidentally, I love prs guitars too and proudly own one. although I get why alex favors les pauls (I suppose 'cause they sound pretty rich, nice and thick tone very beffiting for most rush songs), I also feel that the bright sound of the prs guitars suit some tunes like time stand still.
thanks! that takes me back to their concert in rio last oct 10th. it was so great and I wish I could go back in time over and over and see them live again. oh well... long(er) live rush! my faves on the set were the camera eye and vital signs, by the way. =)
Wonder if that's geddy's original fender with yet another new neck (the inlays are abalone) and a sticker on the pickguard or if it's an entirely new one he got from fender.
they played this flawless in pittsburgh one of my favorite songs of the night. Lovin that bassline, and i could feel lifesons notes moving through my spine lol, and Neil. greatest. ever.
