Good guitarist - HORRIBLE tone and highly inappropriate for Budgie. Work on your sound, Goldy - this isn't Dio where you can show up with your chorussed out/delay from hell garbage tone.
I was there .... but i was too pissed and stoned ..... asked for autographs ...and got em .... but i think i was scaring them .........man i was off my face !!!
Perhaps when Goldy goes back to DIO they can get together and have Budgie tour with DIO? Imagine the show that would be? I Love the welsh flag that Burke is wearing, Wonder if Goldy can speak some welsh now??? LOL
Craig is cool but I don't care for his processed guitar tone and how he puts a shitload of reverb on everything. He needed to dial in something warmer, earthier, vintage for Budgie, not this 80's screech.
I see Burke around Cardiff and he had lots of Tendon problems prior going to Oz. Had his arm in a cast for quit some time. i'm glad that he was finally able to make it.
He is a great guy to talk to - he plays quite a bit in my local pub often getting up to play a few numbers !!
All I can say is you are so so lucky. I envy you. I never had a chance to see Budgie live and my one ambition is to meet Burke. I admire him so much for being true to himself and I love his bass playing also the lyrics he writes. Luv from a huge Budgie fan x
i seen them in liverpool academy 3 days ago, i was stood at the front next to the speaker && my ears are still ringing :) craig was amazing, i got a lot of strange looks as im only 13 but id love to see them again. burke winked at me. (;
I do this for a living because of people like Burke Shelley. Watched him as a kid back in the early 70's..4 years ago finally got to meet him, and had a play on the trusty old precision!
I can't say enough about Budgie. A truly superb band who has had many other bands (over the distance) use bits of Budgie's music in their own self proclaimed efforts. Sadly without recognition for Budgie. I agree with the most underrated band o all times tag. Why, because I was that kid hearing this stuff back in 1969!!!
Not sure about THE most under-rated group of all time. Surely there are far, far too many of them. :-( 'Atomic Rooster', 'Diamond Head' and 'Jameson Raid' come to mind. Alas, talent and ability has never had anything to do with success, otherwise how cwould you explain 'The White Stripes'? :-o
Budgie are great - and whilst I sort of resent Metallica ripping off so many great British bands - at least they credit who their influences, it is only the fans that are too stupid to get it.........
if we all get lucky with Craig Being American they may come over and do a farely decent mini tour, and they always play San Antonio. I happened to see them years ago in Virginia
Craig Goldy rocks! I've seen him with his original band Giuffria as well as Dio / Dream Evil Tour. I was very impressed to see him playing with the legendary Budgie.
!!! BUDGIE music gets better while the time passes by !!! Truly GREATNESSS !!! ¿¿¿ Can you Imagine a kid ,hearing this stuff in 1969 ??? The most underrated band of ALL Times !!!

Yeah Goldy's a great guitarist but (IMHO) he screwed up Breadfan, stick to the right notes & it'll be better
