i love this trailer. its wat brought me into the mass effect trilogy. but i dont like how they make noveria seem like its a planet you ignore. its actually where some of the most important scenes take place.

I sort of wish there was a game mode in both ME games that put you on a timeline. That would ACTUALLY make difficult decisions, like you see here, far more common and diversify each play-through.
Unfortunately though, you can apparently piss around the galaxy like a WoW junky farming resources and collecting badges while the (insert universe-dominating force here) are just two story missions from executing their plans to (insert said universe-dominating force's goal here).

There is only one serious bit of timelining in the ME2 game, and that is after the collecters attack the Normandy, you get the choice of either continuing doing side missions to increase you abilities and upgrade the Normandy, thereby increasing your survival odds for the Suicide Mission (which can become a bloodfest if you dont prepare, I had 7 out of my 11 squad members die when I made a "suicide" attempt) or rushing for the relay, your choice affects whether your captured crew live or die.
I can't imagine why they'd even bother making that commercial without there being time sensitive situations in the game. I refuse to believe it'd be that hard, all those "X3-4" free flight Privateer kinda games already have a real time economy, how much of a technical leap would it really be to have active, dynamic factions making decisions based on your actions?
I agree that it would make more sense, but personally I appreciated that I still had time to explore the game and do more side quests even when it was supposed to seem like I was running out of time. If the game were to feel realistic, they'd have to do away with all the loyalty quests as well...as much as I appreciate secondary content, they don't make sense. I felt the same way about the side quests in Oblivion too... I guess you just have to use your imagination to get the "urgency" feeling.

Mass Effect was pretty long in the making so they were some changes made in the process. Caleston was meant to be the place you rescue Liara and it changed to Therum some time. Nope. You need to have charm or intimidate or have gotten his armor before to make sure he lives. The first time he died when I played .But when I replayed the game I made sure to have enough charm points to keep him alive.
I saved ash. I killed Wrex. I really regret killing wrex but you have to have full charm and say the excact right things to save him. When it came to kaiden and ash, i thought ash would just be better to say because of her combat skills and the sex scenes :).
NOPE, you dont have to have FULL charm or even 1 charm to save wrex. I suggest you replay the game. After every mission, speak to wrex. Soon he'll talk to you about his family armor and how to retrieve it. Once you complete that mission, wrex is saved. In Virmire when you're speaking to wrex, he'll mention about how you have helped him, and therefore he won't resist and fall along your side.
I never use walktroughs so I didn't know all this, made the end of the game without wrex family armor. I had full charm points without thinking about this situation. Charm is really worth investing in, thing become cheaper and it gives you a lot of extra options
what about the end choice of choosing to give power to humans or the council. i chose the council first then i played it again and chose humans and let Cpt Anderson be the leader i hate Udina. i hope this choice will affect how the 2nd game is played
i chose to back kaiden up, because he was with the nuke. he knows tech stuff (would be more useful overall, as part of the crew), and i liked speaking to him. ashley is a good soldier (high attack), but i never used her anyway. i didn't like her attitude, and she seemed to like me... no matter how many times i played it over, i'd choose kaiden. especially after you say she turned the nuke on...? really...
They both did. Kaiden and Ashley will always make the same choice of turning on the nuke while you're still fighting to ensure the success of the mission. They will both always wind up in the same situation.
The only difference is which one you pick to go with the Salarians and thus which one ends up guarding the nuke.
i figured either way the nuke would explode. but the way deathman said it, it sounded like ashley did it in a bad way or something... like too soon, or something
i just found Kaiden more useful in terms of crew. though in terms of personality/interest, kaiden was the most "bland". didn't agree with wrex's views on things but damnit if he wasn't an interesting character. i hope they do even more with this second game. hopefully make it longer too.

there is an easier way with wrex. talk to him and eventually he tells you about his family and that he made a vow to reclaim their ancestral armor. its on Tuntau in the Phoenix System of Argos Rho. after that he trusts you enough to talk down without convincing. its still a good idea to max out one of them but it isnt always necessary.
Noveria is a cold planet. The landing you see in the commercial is a different planet that Noveria. Since it's an ad, it doesn't mean the mission exists in the game.

@TheOwned3 Noveria, in the game, is basically a planet filled with corporations. Businesses and what not. Also science stuff. And its a snowy planet.
I'm sure the developers had plans that were SIMILAR as to saving a planet or recon team, but decided not to put it in the final project.
So no. This is just advertisement. Not to say there aren't any tough choices in the game, trust me, there are.

They both do the exact same thing. They come under attack and turn the nuke on.
Though personally, I did like Ashley. She was alot of more interesting and flawed than what I found to be the rather bland Kaiden.

You can save Wrex if your intimidate or charm is high enough, or if you do Wrex's sidequest.
You get his sidequest by talking to him in the cargo bay between missions, asking him about his past until he tells you about his family armor.

It's really a shame that there are no real decisions like this until near the end of the game. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, it's just not as the commercial would imply.

there is an easier way with wrex. talk to him and eventually he tells you about his family and that he made a vow to reclaim their ancestral armor. its on Tuntau in the Phoenix System of Argos Rho. after that he trusts you enough to talk down without convincing. its still a good idea to max out one of them but it isnt always necessary.

Noveria is a cold planet. The landing you see in the commercial is a different planet that Noveria. Since it's an ad, it doesn't mean the mission exists in the game.
