@yogsothoth2099 : You need a midi guitar converter and a sampler unit. Roland makes one. It attaches to your bass at the bridge. You can then use your bass or guitar to trigger any sampled sound like Pat Metheny does. Piano, drums, saxaphone whatever. I played one at a friend's house. When you play the piano sound and you slide your hand up the strings it sounds like your running yr hand up the piano keyboard and hitting each note individually rather than just a bass slide. Very cool.

For it is them who tell people that this is not the proper way to play bass, drums, etc. The way I see it, is that music is suppose to be a way to express yourself so you can play whatever you feel like. What the hell? First of all, it's not uncommon for many artists to use synthesizers instead of the real thing. I mean, do you wanna learn all of those instruments? The chord progression has some parts which are very similar to Jaco Pastorius' "Havona" with Weather Report. Then you've got a quite Japanese sounding section and the cool solo. Nice.
