the Brass is the "Brass Section" sound from the Ultimate Gen Soundfont V3. if you meant the bass, that was made with VOPM

oh just google search VOPM and it shud be among the first page. I cant remember the exact site I got it from but there a few out there.
And yeah it is no walk in the park. You essentially have to program and tweak it to create your own sounds, they dont come preset like with soundfonts. But it is much more rewarding when you put in the effort.
