And also, if those are Jojo's signature sticks, could it be that you are holding them from the end of the stick to get that extra power in your stroke? (As from what I recall, those sticks are surprisingly light). If so, a bit heavier stick would be much easier to control dynamically, as you could move your grip a bit more into the stick.
