@ParasitReturns never played the original Zelda have you? in the game the camera is overhead and the blocky graphics look 8-bit. the Gameplay and several jokes made in teh game are straight out of teh original zelda but it also makes several referances to D&D as well as other NES games.

It's not just borrowing ideas from Zelda -- they make it extremely clear that they're copying it on purpose as a way of bowing their heads respectfully to the classics. Not just Zelda -- between the music, characters, and the names of things, this game is showing love to Dragon Quest, Castlevania, Bionic Commando, Megaman, and the list goes on.

I like the art direction here. also, with all the detail in the world made up of cubes, its actually a little bit of a technical achievement to have that much geometry at 60fps. not to mention the additional shadow map pass/es happening also.

There is a difference between ripping a game off and paying homage. The Legend of Zelda did a lot for the gaming industry as a whole, and will always be referenced in many games and inspire others. This game just aims to be a fun twist on retro games, not a ripoff of a certain one.

Yes it would be awesome if Nintendo would bother to make a classic 2D Zelda game but instead they're making (in my opinion) stupid games like Phantom Hourglass. They need to make more games like A Link to the Past or even an acting sequel to the original one.

I suggest you rebuy them along with a GBC i doubt the entire package would cost more than $40 dollars. i suggest you try out minish cap if you havent already, that is pretty similar to the gbc games, though much shorter.

Its more like a collective collab of a bundle of old games So the game play is similar to A Link To The Past, the loading screens for specific areas are tributes to some of the art of some games. It's basically a take on classic NES jrpgs, people don't realize that there were alot of classic jrpgs that followed this formula that didn't make it over here, so of course you have misinformed idiots comparing it to/blasting it for resembling classic Zelda.
