  • Hi. For me is important your opinion about Fallkniven S1 (forest knife) - steel VG10, thermoran, convex edge. Thank's a lot.

  • @ShadowofArrow I once had the one. I remember it had a deep convex bevel under a flat portion, which was so to say a Saber convex grind. So it was not able to make as sharp an edge as Bark Rivers. And it had a micro V edge to be removed before stropping. Its handle was kind of slick and short for the blade size. So I didn't need it. Thanks.

  • @virtuovice And if you have to choose only 3 fix blade knives (multipurpose), which of them would you get ? Thanks.

  • @ShadowofArrow I basically have only 4 inch blades. They are just good as a knife due to energy transfer from the hand to the cutting point. I don't baton wood at all. And I don't like a very thick bushcraft handle because it limits blade movement needed in deer dressing. So my top 3 fixed blades are Bark River rampless Bravo1, Fallkniven TK2, and Bark River rampless Gunny for multipurpose. Thanks.

  • how old are you if you don't mine me asking.

  • @bzlaacchk I'm 52yo.

  • @virtuovice Hi

  • I never knew Japan was so beautiful!

  • What a beautiful day to be out hunting, thanks for sharing it with us. Be well Wako.

  • You are so blessed with the beautiful country and the plentiful deer there. I know the joy you felt that day, it makes a man giddy with happiness when it is sunny and not too cold or windy. I wouldn't feel comfortable reprofiling a blade as you have but I really like the Fallkniven Custom F1 and hope to get one some day. Anyone in Canada or the States you would recommend performing the reprofiling on the F1 or should I just consider getting a rampless Bark River Bravo-1 or Gunny?

  • @canesser1 F1 handle has less traction on it and its front end is annoying. F1 blade geometry comprises a flat bevel and a relatively steep convex bevel and a micro V edge. In contrast all Bark Rivers have a continuous convex bevel all the way down without a secondary edge. I recently very often use rampless swedged 3V Bravo1 and love it very much. It holds its edge very long although I don't know how easily it takes stropping. Bravo1 handle is very comfortable for me. Thanks.

  • @virtuovice The Bark River is a very nice knife and there are some great custom sheaths available from Bushcraft Canada .com that I think are my by JRE Industries. Sounds like it'll be the best fit. Thanks for you opinion, really value it.

  • Very nice regrind on the WM1. I have cord wrapped my EsKaBar and have tied a larger knot at the end of the round hole. This knot gives me a four finger grip.

  • @mccullenj Very good idea! But the cord will take blood and I had better not do it just in my case. Thanks.

  • Wako, does your knife collection include any tactical fixed blades or choppers?

  • Wako, does your knife collection include any tactical fixed blades or choppers? If so, could you do a video and talk about them? Thanks

  • Great videos! Keep them coming.

  • stop rapeing the worlds oceans

  • The first video of yours I ever saw was of your neck knives. I bought the Fallkniven WM1 online the same day. Since then I've bought the F1, S1, and A1 ... I love Fallkniven knives. I've also bought a bunch of Bark River knives and ESEE knive because of you.

I better stop watching your videos ... NOT!!! lol

  • I would say the WM1 has less resistance passing through paper purely because it's a thinner blade.

  • I found this video fascinating, thank you.

  • i have the WM1 in the 3g steel...i love this knife..how does the vg10 compare to the 3g?

  • @dragonclaw88 In comparison between my VG10 F1 and 3G TK2, the 3G steel makes smaller angled edge and holds twice longer. So 3G F1 should have a smaller angled edge than VG10 F1. But they won't I guess. So I didn't get the 3G F1. Thanks.

  • Love the scenic beauty of your island...and great hunt and knife comparison! Thanks.

  • It was interesting to see that the deer call irritates the doe so they run away but for bucks they are curious. They both have a reaction from the noise but it is not the same. Maybe for the doe you need to rub some money together.

  • Great video

    Easily my favourite youtuber!

  • Hey Wako,Good shot on the deer.I like Fallkniven knives.I have a WM1 and a F1.The TK2 looks like a great knife but costs too much money here for one.I have not seen a custom F1 like you have for sale here.I really like the handle,is it comfortable to hold? You have alot of snow there, makes it easy for tracking deer.I'm happy to see you having fun in this video and laughing. Thanks for the video.

  • @LiamMitts I noticed myself I was laughing a lot that day. It was a very comfortable day to spend time in the mountain. I didn't need to get a stag then but needed to enjoy that comfortable environment. It was a very happy day for me. By the way the custom F1 was made by JRE industries in Aged Bamboo handle. It is very comfortable in the hand. KSF is selling custom handled F1. But their handle contour will be different. Thanks.

  • How did you get started in Deer Hunting?

  • @Iseekoutthetruth When I got a gun license 8 years ago, there were lots of deer to be hunt. In Japan just owning a gun is not allowed. We need decent purposes for owning our guns. My initial purpose was clay shooting. But I got bored with it soon. Then I started deer hunting. It has been very healthy physically and mentally, and very fruitful about the meat and the trophies. Thanks.

  • hello wako

i would love a review of your hunting rifle or shotgun and ammo type.

    thanks.

  • @unclepaul57 My gun is .410 caliber slug gun modified from Winchester M70 rifle. Its magazine doesn't take my ammo properly and it's a single shot gun. I hand load my ammo from a 200 grain copper bullet and 40 grain fast burning powder in a metal shell. Thanks.

  • @virtuovice yeah it still comes with the crappy sheath. Nice video Wako

  • thanks for the video, very interesting as always

  • Waco, I love your vids! Always an adventure, thanks.

  • ًWhat binoculars do you use Wako? Can you do a review on your hunting binos and what you like most? Thanks for the great vid

  • @sebenzalover I don't carry binoculars for mountain hunting because the place where I spot a deer is the place where I shoot it. So when the deer is uncertain about having antlers, I check it with the rifle scope. During using binoculars the deer must run away. Anyway I have many binoculars and I most depend on the Nikon Monarch 8×42 binoculars. 10× is rather difficult to take the deer in sight quickly. Thanks.
