Dude, how much did the swap cost you? Im running an RB25 in my S14, and plan on keeping it that way, but my uncle has a Zenki that he's thinking about swapping an LS1 in, and I would like to know how much you would estimate it would cost to do the entire swap.
thats funny the s14 swaybar fit perfectly onto the s13 coupe we swapped a 6.0 vortec into.. lowered it maybe 2 inches might have been a tad more will have to measure. And i wouldnt Part a v8 into a japanese car either but i would PUT one in, i cant imagine what it would be like with an Alum. Ls1 in it since the vortec weighs so much but still handles like it did with that crap of a 4 banger- i dont care what you think you know but the stock ka's weigh atleast the same as an LS with most Acc.
thats funny the ka24e in mine will do the same- with Bald ass 17's or in the rain.... now throw some real DR on there and see what happens!

dude get an education. and if you knew this swap so well you would know that the front sway bar has to be removed and also theres still weight passed the front tires that still makes the FRONT HEAVIER THEN THE REAR. and the ka24e has like 115whp and like 119tq at the wheels and the ka24de is 50+ on both sides i easily spin mine on dry ground and can hold it. youre an idiot i never said anything bad about the ls if you look at my original message just wouldnt part a american v8 in a japanese car

it has more balance and will handle better with the stock KA. i dont know how youre not understanding how balance works. you ever look under the hood of a car and notice that sports cars that are rwd the engine sits far back from the radiator, thats for balance. the more wieght toward the center of the car the better the balance. ls is heavier then the KA and longer which means no balance.
MrNicholasHaynie: I don't know what arm chair you've been racing, but an LS1 sits lower and farther back in the chassis than a KA or an SR. Oh, and it's also lighter. Todays magic word is ALUMINUM, look it up hero.
the SR is an aluminum engine and it doesnt sit back further.oh and reread my other post i never said anything against the ls. id prefer the VK56VD that makes 420hp and 417tq. and it sits behind the front wheels.
put a ls in a 240sx then weigh the front then weigh the rear then when youre scratching your head wondering why the front weighs more try to remember this.
@MrNicholasHaynie do you know how to read? if you take a lighter engine and put it in the same place the old one was, it will handle better. the ls with tranny is only 1 inch longer than the ka with tranny so with a 1 inch shorter driveshaft you have have it in exactly the same spot.

My car is worth more money on the resale tip because my motor is not some beat up 15 year old motor from japan. If you guys are noticing alot of people are switching to v8 in rx7's and 240's. Its for a reason sr's are played out and rb's are fun but the parts are hard to come by. I can just go to a local place like autozone while you idiots gotta wait weeks to get shit shipped from japan and the west coast!!!. Call it cheating if you want but having an lsx motor is way easier.

half the horse power, lighter and well driven also...straight line racing the skyline would have stomped him. It depends alot on what your building your car to do, touge, time attack, drag, drift, etc. Now a days the playing field is more even
actually if you have an rb to upgrade your current parts are'nt going to cost as much as buying a decent full supercharger(kit) take the sr20det for the s13 something as simple as getting the s15 turbo grants huge numbers and small tuning here and there and it does'nt cost alot. 2 conpletely different engines and ways to draw power out, it's a preference. Buying a full supercharger kit is going to murder your pockets

All my friends run turbo's and or superchargers, if you have a decent tune on an engine it will open up. Alot of guys think oh i'll drop a huge engine in and beat everything out their...nope!!! shit you got power to weight ratios, hp, throttle response, tune, upgrades etc. that's how an amemiya rx7 beat a skyline on a road course.

The factory tune on the RB series motors really tell you nothing about these motors except that the japanese really don't want us to kill ourselves with these motors, lol. the term "freeing up a couple ponies" is an understatement when an RB has a GOOD tune.

Dude, how much did the swap cost you? Im running an RB25 in my S14, and plan on keeping it that way, but my uncle has a Zenki that he's thinking about swapping an LS1 in, and I would like to know how much you would estimate it would cost to do the entire swap.

thats funny the s14 swaybar fit perfectly onto the s13 coupe we swapped a 6.0 vortec into.. lowered it maybe 2 inches might have been a tad more will have to measure. And i wouldnt Part a v8 into a japanese car either but i would PUT one in, i cant imagine what it would be like with an Alum. Ls1 in it since the vortec weighs so much but still handles like it did with that crap of a 4 banger- i dont care what you think you know but the stock ka's weigh atleast the same as an LS with most Acc.

thats funny the ka24e in mine will do the same- with Bald ass 17's or in the rain.... now throw some real DR on there and see what happens!

and i have no idea how balance affects handling? the ka24e OR De weight the same as the LS but the v8's tranny weighs more so it puts the weight where? dude get an education. and if you knew this swap so well you would know that the front sway bar has to be removed and also theres still weight passed the front tires that still makes the FRONT HEAVIER THEN THE REAR. and the ka24e has like 115whp and like 119tq at the wheels and the ka24de is 50+ on both sides i easily spin mine on dry ground and can hold it. youre an idiot i never said anything bad about the ls if you look at my original message just wouldnt part a american v8 in a japanese car

anyone who thinks the handling is affected by an LS swap is retarded- yes it hurts the fact your car now has the power to spin the tires so maybe YOU cant handle it but that doesnt mean its the motors placement thats doing it... You either have never been in an LS240 or are going off what you've heard about them

@MrNicholasHaynie you are a complete jackass. the 240sx is stock an awesome handleing car and the ls seris motors are actually LIGHTER than the stock 4 cylinder motor due to its cast aluminum block. So basically a 240 with an ls motor is actually lighter and handles better. this is an awesome swap. great job guys!

yes someone is actually going to argue this with me. i have a 96 so i know about the balnce for handling. that V8 sits in front of the front tires which makes the car front heavy and throws off the balance there goes your handling buddy. do your research. this is the reason im not putting a rb in my car.

that wasnt my point. i didnt realize people were so slow and couldnt comprehend common thought processes. ok let me say what i said already, THE ENGINE IS STILL OVER THE FRONT WHEELS, THAT CAUSES THE BALANCE TO BE OFF WEIGHT IS NOT A FACTOR. i hope thats simple enough for you to understand, i dont know how to make it any simpler.

it has more balance and will handle better with the stock KA. i dont know how youre not understanding how balance works. you ever look under the hood of a car and notice that sports cars that are rwd the engine sits far back from the radiator, thats for balance. the more wieght toward the center of the car the better the balance. ls is heavier then the KA and longer which means no balance.

MrNicholasHaynie: I don't know what arm chair you've been racing, but an LS1 sits lower and farther back in the chassis than a KA or an SR. Oh, and it's also lighter. Todays magic word is ALUMINUM, look it up hero.

the SR is an aluminum engine and it doesnt sit back further.oh and reread my other post i never said anything against the ls. id prefer the VK56VD that makes 420hp and 417tq. and it sits behind the front wheels.

@MrNicholasHaynie do you know how to read? if you take a lighter engine and put it in the same place the old one was, it will handle better. the ls with tranny is only 1 inch longer than the ka with tranny so with a 1 inch shorter driveshaft you have have it in exactly the same spot.

My car is worth more money on the resale tip because my motor is not some beat up 15 year old motor from japan. If you guys are noticing alot of people are switching to v8 in rx7's and 240's. Its for a reason sr's are played out and rb's are fun but the parts are hard to come by. I can just go to a local place like autozone while you idiots gotta wait weeks to get shit shipped from japan and the west coast!!!. Call it cheating if you want but having an lsx motor is way easier.

actually if you have an rb to upgrade your current parts are'nt going to cost as much as buying a decent full supercharger(kit) take the sr20det for the s13 something as simple as getting the s15 turbo grants huge numbers and small tuning here and there and it does'nt cost alot. 2 conpletely different engines and ways to draw power out, it's a preference. Buying a full supercharger kit is going to murder your pockets

Why be like everyone else? Research all swaps and you will find that the LS engine swaps are sick when it comes down to numbers.
Very light aluminum engine, alot of NA power, reliable, helps achieve closer 50/50 ratio, etc etc etc. Research.
Its a sick swap with alot of benefits.

ls2? it takes much less to mod the ls2 anyway. the money you spend on bigger turbos i could have supercharged, cammed, head work, headers.
With just that im already looking at over 550hp.
and it sounds way sicker than an rb series motor.

yeah an ls sounds sick, but strange in a 240...how can you say ls is better than an rb? do you know anything about ecu tuning to unlock it's natural hp. This engine can easily put down 700-800hp and it does'nt cost alot of money to upgrade bro! Same with 2jz, cams supercharger etc it's going to cost close to the same thing

thanks bro and nope I've been reading up and messing around for a couple years now and still just hitting tip of the iceberg. All my friends run turbo's and or superchargers, if you have a decent tune on an engine it will open up. Alot of guys think oh i'll drop a huge engine in and beat everything out their...nope!!! shit you got power to weight ratios, hp, throttle response, tune, upgrades etc. that's how an amemiya rx7 beat a skyline on a road course.

damn i know this vid old as hell but you made a point ive been trying to get alot of people to understand lately. Its all about the tune man, thats really what its about. The factory tune on the RB series motors really tell you nothing about these motors except that the japanese really don't want us to kill ourselves with these motors, lol. the term "freeing up a couple ponies" is an understatement when an RB has a GOOD tune.
