Pretty nice video :). However, I believe it is wrong to say that these teenagers need Church,Religion, or a God to be "awakened". I find myself more "righteous" than most others who claim to be religious or believe in a god. As you would guess, I am an Atheist. I believe it just comes down to the person, and their culture around them and how they choose to react/learn from theirs/others experiences.
coyote69lotus you are wrong. I know it doesn't seem that way. I've been there. God can't save you unless you let Him. Don't reject God's refuge because your sister did. Accept it because you still have that chance.
@exocuter101 ?Hating on someone cause of their religion? I'm mad cool and I'm christian lol. I don't even like religion I just love God and believe in Him and serve Him. Get what I'm saying. What really makes a Christian do you know? Don't mean to sound offensive either :)
Awesome video ;) if i can i might see if my youth pastor will let me use this as like a intro video...we're starting the Francis Chan crazy love series but this video would go amazingly with that theme ;)
It is really sad that half of these comments are making fun of video or putting down the christian religion.Every single commenter is in my prayers.God loves you no matter what you say.
That's sad and messed up that in this age, the modern era, 1/2 of all American teens attend church. That's pathetic. It should be far less than that by now, and if it weren't for the scourge of organized religion, I probably wouldn't have to type this message on Youtube and on this laptop, for we would be far higher down the road of technological evolution. We could have had Ipods in the 16th century if it weren't for Chritianity!!!!!!
The worst thing happening to teens today is that they are being deceived by ministries that promote things like contemporary "christian" music, and every other demonic form of worship in their churches - including Teen Mania
FHTM gets added to the FTC "Operation Empty Promises" investigative list and rumor has it that FHTM is about to implode as 4 of its top money earners seek other companies for their teams. How much will these leaders be paid to convince you to go elsewhere now. I bet it upwards of a Million. Will they offer any to you to come for a new roller coaster ride? Good luck!
we won't defeat these problems without total restoration of the western church. we need to get away from trying to convict people of sin ( that's the Holy Spirit's job ) and present the the truth of God's love and Grace. people don't go to hell for being sinners, they go because they failed to acknowledge the cross and enter into the grace relationship with God which is the very thing and onlything that leads them out of sin anyway.
i geuss none of this comes as a shock to me for some reason im basicly a 13 year old counselour to my entire year leval and christ our school is messed up why they come to me il never know iv got a reputation for being one of the most messed up kids at the school :/
@DeityofStuff I don't think it look like McDonalds, it looked more like Sonic's to me. Besides, McDonalds is as bad enough as it is without the alchohol. XD
You may have already answered this, but from where do you pull your statistics? And do you have an updated (2010) version of this video, with recent stats? Thanks!
@albinohorse These Stats were collected from agencies such as BARNA study association. This has not been updated since 2009, but that is because the stats have not changed dramatically enough to really change them in the film.
Leonard Ravenhill was a man of God, too bad theres more preaching a fluffy new agey heresy than the very offensive word of God. I'm glad atf is putting truth in these videos. But i think the reason these kids are doing these things are because they are slaves to sin ... Only Jesus Christ can save them. Preach the word of God Ron.
Enough of these videos coming from churches. This video says that 1/2 of teens go to church. Ok. That means at least 1/2 of teen parents go to church. At the rate the church expects, they've got 5% of the income of America. At least. And they don't pay any taxes.
It's noble that you want to help these suffering teens, but 2 hours in church is not going to do much. Nothing you preach at them from a pulpit will change their situations. But opening up your home if they need a safe place, or buying them lunch and spending two hours just listening to them, that could make all the difference in the world. Being the one person or family who cares about them could save their life.
@LetsRollProductions Ok, I have converted to Carveism, the worship of Dana Carvey. Just watch his comedy stand up and you will get it. Still, this video is very touching as I age.
One that causes you to understand His love for you and so out of that, you desire to keep his commands which in the end are for your own good. Teen Mania and Battle cry does all it can to reach out to kids who are looking for TRUTH that will set them free.
This video was made for parents who have no idea of the ways that teens try to escape thier problems, and how it is ruining my generation. Religion is not the answer. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is.
@VoiceARevolution hi i want to ask you something. isn't a strong relationship with God enough? Christians, Jews, and Muslims beleive He created everything and has control over everything. Please reply back. Thanks :)
@cc162010able It's not enough to KNOW someone... Satan knows Jesus and he's clearly enjoying His arrogance against God as well.. We have to not only KNOW him, but we Must align our lived with HIS WAY of living. We have to LOVE him. And to LOVE him means we DESIRE to please and obey him. :) GREAT Question though!
No need to worry about religion, Christianity has managed to stay relevant this last 2000 years due to the fact that:
1) it re-writes history to preserve itself.
2) the religion changes to appeal to the youngest generation.
3) ruthless child abuse in the form of indoctrination.
However in the last 400 years, especially since the development of the Theory of Evolution, Christianity has been blown out of the water. Globalization, the Information Age. I can't see religion surviving.
I agree with you on some things, but not on others. In the most recent years, it's obvious to see how "Christianity" is just a religion for a bunch of hypocrites--people that make themselves feel good by having 'higher standards'. But the truth is, the more "religion" gets suppressed, the more we'll see true Christ followers. The ones who love with God's unconditional love, and love people around them without ANY selfish motivation. And I hope you see that truth.
@MisleadGuidance Any charities are good, no doubt that what they do is good, even if the motivation is wrong. But I'm talking about the people that only tell you about Jesus because they want you to experience the same level of unconditional love! It's like telling your friend about something you are passionate about, just to tell them so that they can have it too. (Not just for adding numbers and patting themselves on the back for their good deeds)
@andrewseburn What's the difference between a Christian and a bad salesman? Nothing. Their both trying to get you to buy into their product without little reason to do so. [To them it may seem like a good reason, but some of us are rational].
@MisleadGuidance I understand the way you feel, but don't let your bad experience with "Christians" (who obviously don't fully understand love) cloud your judgement about what a real Christian ought to be. No where in the Bible does it say become a Christian and then try to make as many Christians as you can. The commandments in the Bible state that we are to Love God, and love others as a result. The "Christians" in your experience are clearly missing the point of just plain loving you.
@andrewseburn Well then there definitely isn't enough of these "true" Christians. The one's I've met have been some of the most hate inciting bigots I've ever met.
They hate Gays, Muslims, Jews. Sometimes Blacks, Hispanics or other ethnic groups. The reason for their hate all comes from their family values, which originated from their church. Religion divides people, their are no races, their are no breeds or species. These are human concepts, we're all one of the same.
@MisleadGuidance Everything you just said is truth. And it sounds like you have much more understanding than these people you know. The very Bible they're "reading" speaks against the way they act. The 'religious' part of Christianity came from Humans and it's true: living by a bunch of rules (they created) just divides people. I would encourage you to read the Bible instead of believing the religious people around you. It speaks of loving everyone around us. Mark 12:28-34. biblegatewayCOM
@andrewseburn You might want to a bit more specific then just the entire Bible. I have delved into the wise words of our lord and to be honest, there's some pretty fucked up shit in there. The old testament mainly but the new testament isn't that much of an improvement.
@MisleadGuidance I would say, just start with any one of the books about Jesus' life, (either the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John). If you read any of those books, just notice how Jesus lived and his personality--That's what "Christians" are supposed to live like. Ultimately, some things won't make sense until you read the whole Bible, but reading one of those books listed is a good place to start. And the "messed up" people in the Bible remind me that God uses ordinary people like us.
this isnt made to show all the negative, it is made to show that obviously something is going wrong and we need to change the way we are living. if we stay the way they are then these things will only get worse so its time we make a change and take responsibility for our own actions. this isn't stuff we deal with, it's stuff we do. everyone just wants a cure but 'accept me and be happy' isn't the message of Jesus. he says 'love me, be holy and be persecuted and love the one who persecutes you'
Awesome video! The editing was really good, and it had a good message. I've always thought that Christians are very preoccupied with their own lives and growing in their own faith than others.
How about instead of reminding us of all this shit that we deal with, remind us of the good things. Our lives aren't all bad. Or maybe...something else. I really don't know. I just find that I feel the most depressed after attending some sort of religious event.
this video isnt advertising church, to me it is doing the opposite, its not telling you to go out and change the world instead its helping people to realise that you shouldnt just blindly accept whats been placed on you through the media and peers.
And as a result you buy the books and go to the events, and they make a profit.
But, look. I didn't mean to offend you, or anyone. It was late when I said all that stuff...I should have just kept it to myself, as well as watched the language. I'm sorry.
So I know a lot of this stuff is going on. Trust me. But what are you doing about it? Giving us Jesus? How about, give me a break. I've been down that road. And to be honest, it didn't do much for me. Not as bad as drinking, drugs, self injury, and whatever else is discussed in this video, but it doesn't change anything.
You aren't helping. Damn it, I'm running out of room again...
Powerful?? Hopefully I can fit everything I'm thinking into comment.
This is NOT powerful. This is focusing on the negative in order to make teenagers feel like "Oh, man, somebody finally understands me!" Being a teenager is really not that bad. Okay, I'm running out of room, I'm going to post another comment...
