This was my first concert it was a fantastic day we drove to london from lancs in my 1976 mini the day before and went through 2 gallons of oil on the round trip....well worth it tho.. wish i could see them again.
Oh boy, to think what it must have been like to be there... Breaks my heart that I was only 6 at that time. I'm happy for you to have had the chance to see them. It's not just a once in a lifetime moment... once in a millenia, more like.
Don't like this version that much. Too much singing like shouting. I like the versions where there is more difference between soft and louder singing. It makes the song more alive.
And the applause was disappointing because those people heard the song for the first time. To us this song has a history.

Ahh nuts he couldnt hit the E4, he was diagnosed with AIDS in Spring 1987 and this was late summer of 1986, so he didnt know he had it here obviously.
Listen to the part from 1:55 to 2:20 and you will see that he could hit all the notes at this time. His voice was perfect till the end - listen to Mother Love. It was the last song. Recorded only weeks before he died and still his voice is perfect. Sorry for my english - I'm german and only 16 ;)
That's because it was done in the studio afterwards and added to the DVD that was released. Freddie did a lot of overdubs on the Wembley show in the studio after as he had a cold so his voice was not on form. I've got a soundeck recording from the show so it's very easy to spot them. In that one song there was around 4 or 5 overdubs done afterwards.
no way! I'd be very interested in hearing what this performance sounded like without these supposed dubs. That high note seems like something Freddie could only hit "in the moment" of live performance but it'd be fascinating if they actually took the time to overdub certain notes.
I will dig it out and post it soon. If you want to here overdubs, have a listen to one vision from wembley, its on you tube. If you listed carefully to the line "Look what they've done to my dream", you will here two Freddies singing. One is the actual concernt sound, the other is the studio overdub. Play it over a couple of time, you will here two freddies.
One of my favourite Queen songs.
Just wished I had the chance to see them live when they were about. Oh well their music will live on forever.

That's because it was done in the studio afterwards and added to the DVD that was released. Freddie did a lot of overdubs on the Wembley show in the studio after as he had a cold so his voice was not on form. I've got a soundeck recording from the show so it's very easy to spot them. In that one song there was around 4 or 5 overdubs done afterwards.

no way! I'd be very interested in hearing what this performance sounded like without these supposed dubs. That high note seems like something Freddie could only hit "in the moment" of live performance but it'd be fascinating if they actually took the time to overdub certain notes.

I will dig it out and post it soon. If you want to here overdubs, have a listen to one vision from wembley, its on you tube. If you listed carefully to the line "Look what they've done to my dream", you will here two Freddies singing. One is the actual concernt sound, the other is the studio overdub. Play it over a couple of time, you will here two freddies.
