  • i need one of thse

  • I just want to let you know how difficult you are making my life. I thought I had it all figured out and was all set to get a Martin D28 and I had to find you damn video. Couldn't you have played out of tune or something to make it sound like crap. Now I have to rethink my decision.

    Great playing man!!

  • you can be my wife. lol

  • Not bad

  • you wield that axe real well.

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck... I gotta practice more! :D

  • @steelpowerhouse me too!!!

  • Beautiful tune, extra special for an improv jam. Great sounding guitar!

  • Nice to meet you, I am a Japanese man.

Since last year, started the acoustic guitar. The sound of acoustic guitar, every day, is healed. I Do not use pick has played in five fingers and arpeggios. I prefer to play the bass quite mixed. Gibson J-45, Martin D-28 to hear their sounds, videos and met you. The sound of your guitar playing, head, ears and body was healed. To be met with a nice video, I thank you and your guitar.

  • I dig the unpretentious radness of this arrangement!

    Thanks,

    Tim

  • @phytzi elixir custom lights

  • u really should make a name for that and make tabs because i REALLY want to learn it :)

  • @vickhily Thanks. Sorry can't tab, wouldn't know how to or where to start. This is an improvised jam thats all. Prob. couldnt play it again the same myself.

  • Is that your own acoustics room> O_O

  • Only one word.... GGGGGGGRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT!

  • nice playing thanks for posting.

  • I love your playing. Your style and the guitar are a great match too! I've got a 66 j45 and I wish I could play it like you play yours.

  • At 38 seconds I swear your guitar is talking

  • How much did you get thhat guitar for?

  • very nice!!

  • This is fabulous. From your playing to your facial expressions IT'S A DELIGHT. I have just bought a J45 and I luuuuuuv it. Thanks for posting this.

  • How Much Was It ? I`m Thinking Of Getting One.

  • excellent stuff..well done!!!!!!!!

  • you make some goofy faces when you play but very good playing

  • dont you think you should wait until your skills get a little better before buying such an expansive guitar? just kidding! good stuff!!!

  • awsome job!

  • good job, i love the gibson j45, thinking of getting one myself, thanks for the sound demo.

  • Since you own a rosewood j-45, how would you compare it to a standard?

  • @2PaperTigers Don't know. I've never played a standard.

  • @richardc1972cowboy what kind of strings do you have on this guitar?

  • @lukemfnschindler Elixir custom lights

  • Excellent stuff.

  • Love your playing and you facial expressions man. You really do get into it.

  • Is this a different tuning? Sounds great. Which j45 is this?

  • @ShoelessDrea stadard tuning. J-45 Rosewood edition

  • amazing man, i hope i can write something like that in the future

  • are you a Christian rocker?

  • @PopExpo I like them all, Jesus, Buddah, Socrates, Diego Maradona, Zarathustra, and especially Ol' Nick. Does that answer your bizarre question?

  • @richardc1972cowboy how about Muslims?

  • @TheShereenSuhailiS of course. I have two copies of The Koran in my house. It's all good.

  • @richardc1972cowboy You're such an amazing guy :) I'm a muslim and you have no idea how much I've been bullied because of my race. Thank you :)

  • @PopExpo Why do people bring God into music? I'm just curious.

  • @DCSkateZen360 because music is very spiritual.

  • @PopExpo Does it matter?

  • Amazing tune my friend. So much feeling in it and you obviously feel it when you play it haha. Love it.

  • @dml1010

If you don't feel it don't play it - my motto. I saw a documentary on Elton John once, the camera crew was following him around his house and the guy drew attention to a massive piano in the room. He said to Elton John "looks great, do you play it often", John replied " Gosh no, I never work at home". That is exactly the opposite to how I see music. ( nothing bad against Elton John & all his fans - just making a point ! )

  • @richardc1972cowboy I couldn't agree more with that. How'd you get so good? Lessons? COllege? Or just a lot of practice and trial and error haha.

  • Absolutly fantastic!! Really lovin it!

  • You should try to make a guitar out of that closet door. That looks like a very nice solid wood.

  • @theghostofian Pine sucks for geetar making

  • @stiggyto

    Have you ever tried it?

  • @MultiParasite It doesn't necessarily sound bad,but it's a bitch to work with.

  • @stiggyto

Oh, well ok, i agree with that ;)

    But it's good for fingerboards

  • Can't believe how many people are asking for "tabs"! Something not right here....

The guy is obviously just jammin, in the moment.....:-)

  • I'm impressed

  • That is good sound!! from Japan

  • dude amazing! do you by any chance have tabs?

  • @MrWaddlesgee3 Sorry no tabs. Try and do it by ear

  • Sounds amazing man, really nice groove to the music ;)

  • Lovely playin pal. How long have you had your J45? It sounds really opened up and alive?

  • @Bottleneck66

this Guitar was made by a man called 'Joe' at the Gibson Bozeman Plant in 2005. Joe did a good job I think. Yeah it's fairly opened up by now, I play it a lot and change the strings pretty often. Thanks for the comment

  • Our musical friend reckons that the Gibson J45 has a better pickup than most Taylor guitars. I really want to know before I indulge myself and make that dream purchase. Anybody got an opinion?

  • Buying a Gibson J-45 in the future is one of my biggest dreams :P They're so expensive. How have you financed it?

    Kudo's for the playing :)

  • Great playing, I thought you were in my spare room lol, you wouldn't believe how much they look the same, wood, sloping ceiling. Anyway fantastic guitar, I have never played one of these but I have played a J200, are the necks the same fat round baseball bat shape or are they slimmer like the old Yamaha FG's, and Martins?

  • Thanks. Neck is fairly thick alright, thicker than any Martin I've tried

  • is this in open g?

  • standard tuning

  • amazing oie omg haha i was like omg haha

  • Great job. You did it all with a plectrum, too. Nice little room.

  • SO NICE!

  • so crazy! very good player!

  • Hey dude sweet playing!

awhile back when i was asking my parents for a j-45 i showed them this vid to show them the sound. and now i have one! So i wanna say thanks and it is an amazing guitar lol. i got this song about halfway down haha

    Take care!

  • @Ferrar1995 lol......

  • @Ferrar1995 do you know the name of this song? it sounds awesome

  • this is an improvisation my friend

  • i have been thinking about getting this guitar and you just sold me and realy like the way you play gb

  • Buy a j-45 and make a friend. this guitar is warm, responsive, loud, sweet - you won't regret it

  • Fantastic, you play the Gibson with youre body and soul, at last a lovlng touch! My respect, .........72cowboy!

  • thanks a lot

  • ur like god! this is amazin

  • Love the mid-jam tuning..... smooth as butter, man!!:)

  • Sounds great! Nothing like good room acoustics...nice J 45...

  • this is fantastic !

  • Thank You.

  • I will learn this jam even if it takes me 3 years....you're playing is inspiring !!! Peace!

  • Learn it my friend ! Thank You.

  • Just wondering if you can give me heads up on this jam? Where do I begin? Is it a song? Or are you just jamming? I'm just starting to learn scales etc. Are you playing areound certain scales (if so let me know) cheers.

  • just improvised jam with many things picked up over the years. To be honest I learn and play by ear, not scales etc. Try and pick up what you can by watching the vid. maybe

  • the all wooden walls make the sound so warm with the j45. such a great guitar chosen by so many great musicians. good guitar work by the way

  • Is this original tuning? EADGBe?

The warmth in the guitar makes it sound as it has been tuned down half a step or something, or am I totally off?

  • concert tuning, so yeah is that EADGBE? I'm not so good with that sort of thing!

  • "Not so good at that sort of thing!" - uh, yeah sure. C'mon man what can it hurt to tell the guy what the guitar is tuned to? Your good though - damn good.

  • tuning is standard people, concert tuning as they say. thanks for the positive comments!

  • wonderfull !

i like so much, it's really satisfaction playng in G tune, you could do it for hours

    Bravo!

  • Nice tune- good playing. Great fun! Espeically the first couple of minutes! I have a j-45 as well. It's a great guitar for fingerpicking. The Martin's longer scale makes for a brighter sound I think. I prefer the warmth of the Gibson.

  • Dude, if you ever make a cd of your playing, I'll buy one. Awsome! That is the best sounding guitar I have ever heard, I have always been a Taylor fan and have owned 7 of them. Now I think you have converted me to Gibson. I see a J-45 in my future.

  • Thanks a lot. Yeah, Martins I could never warm to for some reason. J-45 has a nice warmth to it. This guitar is about three years old now and fairly broken in. I had to get the action adjusted and a new nut but after that - no problems !

  • Thats funny, just bought one this summer and had to take it in because of buzzing on E and B strings. Did an ajustment and started buzzing again. Turns out the nut was cut too deep on both strings and they gave me a new guitar. 2nd one sounds great except when i plug it in i can only hear the bass strings. must be a pickup adjustment in order but i cant bear to be without it long enough to take it back in. Sounds great Cowboy! Keep pickin

  • Hi thanks for the comment. Guy who adjusted mine told me Gibson make crap nuts! I didnt know that all I knew is that the thing was buzzing. Haven't had any problems with it since though.

  • lolz..u really feel the music u make...and u really singing form ur soul...just great!

  • I have the j-45 but i really like the way U play it!!!! great interpretation :-)

  • VERY GREAT!!!

I want to buy this guiter.

  • You are fantastic love your sound

Do you use Acoustic Phosphor Bronze with NANOWEB® Coating 10s

    or bronze 80/20 Nonoweb 10s

  • I don't know!

    Thanks

  • that was awesome

  • Great! カッキイイー

  • SUPER SKILLS... Love my J45RW

  • hummingbird vs j200 vs j45? some differences?

  • すげー!ギブソン欲しいなー(^。^)

  • I have 2004 Mahagany J45 and I use Elixer 10s and they sounde great, This is the 5th J45 I have had in over 40 years.

  • so you should stay with the oldest one...vintage rlz..

  • quality sounds!

  • nice

  • i really want this j45 vine guitar but its 4 grand. and im the only one who plays it there so i think they shood give it to mee!!! i want t soo bad

  • i played one of these rosewood gibbys the other day. It was a bit heavier than the mahogony J45 and i didnt really think it sounded better. i prefered the original J45 but to each his own. both great guitars though. rock on brother!

  • yeah it's heavy alright. Haven't played the mahogany version myself. Rosewood or mahogany, with the J-45 It's all good !

  • excellent video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • After having heard this (and tried out a J-45 in the local shop) I started looking for a secondhand one. Which I did yesterday - greeeaaat guitar - (cool if this is all improvised. ) G is also my favorit chord :-) Michael -

  • what's the price of this guitar?

  • About $2,400 at most places, I believe.

  • here in brazil, something about 15000 reais. or 7000 dollars.

  • oh... you poor guys - why is it so high?

  • something called ''imposto''

go on google tradutor and see what that mean.

  • Totally Awesome!

  • beautiful sounding room! guitar is great too

  • you in standard tuning?

  • Yes

  • Great!!! sound really great. What song is it? sound like something that I know...

  • whole thing is just improvised

  • I sure love Gibsons, but I hate the hideous orange label in the soundhole.

  • funny, mine has a white label and i wish it had the orange!

  • hey do you know what the differences between the rosewood model and the mahogany model are? is it just the tone? and if so what are the differences in the tone?

  • I haven't got a clue ! Ha ha, Maybe they're he same ? Rosewood is allegedly better wood but to be honest, if you can play and it's a Gibson then it'll sound okay.

  • The Mahogany has a softer mellow sound while the rosewood will give the guitar a brighter sound and deeper bass I which is why most bluegrass players prefer the rosewood to get the volume as loud as the banjo

  • ahhh thanks a lot man.

  • i tend to say its the opposite of what stevie46 says...i say the 'hog has a drier, flatter, more woody, typical acoustic sound (which is why its a great all-around workhorse guitar) while the rosewood provides more low end, more warmth overall and a terrific throaty middrange...but also a less bright top-end which is why i feel it can sound great with very bright strings (ie brass 80/20s).

  • really nice...i have a j45RW as well...great axe. what strings are you using there? did you make any adjustments to the factory action?

  • Using Elixir 10's. Really great strings and they last forever. Factory set up was poor, I had this set up professionally, new nut improved action. Made a big difference.

  • wow 10s eh? (thats "extra light" right? nanoweb or polweb elixers?)? factory ships with 12s right? and you dont find them too light? why a new nut? was the saddle lowered? is the action much lower than factory? (mine feels pretty high). im always curious what others have done to their guitars.

  • thanks anyways haha. you play really well by the way

  • Great playing. Do you own any Martins? I've been trying to find a Martin to buy but it seems to be taking forever. Maybe I should look into a nice Gibson instead.

  • Any Martin I've ever played has been only 'okay', for me GIbson make better acoustics. Others swear by Martins! Try a J-45 ( make sure the strings are new-ish at least) and see for yourself

  • I love it man

    so much

    peace

    yours seba

  • Tremendous stuff Richie - I have a 'hog J45 which I love to bits, but that was great, really enjoyed that.

  • Thank you.

  • Man, I can't decided if I a more jealous of your j-45 or your ability to play it.

  • That was great! Thanks

  • haha man.. you are having fun =D

  • Haha! I love how you dust off the headstock when you're done! Awesome playing!! Great sounding guitar! 5 stars!

  • nice workout!
