  • that fucking guitar!!! :)

  • @spaceagedevice Coxon is a marvel with a guitar. His work isn't all solo's like some others because he plays more melodic to fit round the music. However, as for riffs, sounds and effects he is up there with the best of them. And he can solo like fuck when he wants to.

  • That mournful guitar riff gets me every time.

  • I consider this as the Jugband blues of Blur

  • Haven't heard this song for ages. It just makes me cry....the sadness in Damon's voice ... Graham's guitar is literally wailing.

  • Radiohead and The Smiths are my favourite bands. But this is by far the saddest song on my ipod.

  • and people say think tank wasn't a good album.

  • What the hell does Ashley Tisdale have to do with this song? o.o

  • @otrebobz144 The fact that they're both on youtube.

  • just shows how you can sublimate sorrow into song

  • one of blurs best...and probally the best off think tank

  • Holy shit.....this is the first time I've listened to this song and its fucking incredible.

  • I... I...just................................

  • just shows that you can be a super shitty singer and still manage to cough up an ok song

  • @luckylongarm1 Just shows that you can write a stupid comment that isn't true in the slightest sense. I know it sounds corny but, "let's see you do better."

  • @Manbeast465 just because someone is a shitty singer doesn't mean i should make a better song you stupid fuck

  • @luckylongarm1 Yeah, you think you could do better than Damon Albarn? Be lead singer for three highly successful bands? I don't think a shitty singer would have been voted the 4th greatest frontman of all time.

  • @Manbeast465 voted by retarded tone deaf people such as yourself

  • @luckylongarm1 Or maybe you, and most other people have no real musical taste and probably listen to Rihanna or Lil Wayne. Blur is REAL music.

  • it's so beautiful, that it hurts

  • Full of drama and atmosphere this one......and reminiscent of The Cure in a strange way

  • i listen to this song when things got bad with a girl i was inlove with 1 year passed and now she isnt with me shes with anothr adn i listen to this song to remember that time thinkin in a future im gonna break every bitt ugh well now i got a motto ...''look on the brightside'' i try smile and this song makes me happy now cos i remember suffering and shit and i got my motto out of this song somehow .-. oh well peace everyone always smile adn look on the bright side :)

  • What a nice song!

  • This song is a monster of music

  • ;~; fuckin a. this song is the saddest thing i've ever heard in my entire life.

  • @MangoStarrx3 Oh god. Its even sadder once you've seen "No distance left to run" ... dear god i'm dying over here.

  • A great song to run to as well 'Battery in your leg' great pace and crescendo !

  • A great song to run to as well 'Battery in your leg' great pace and crescendo !

  • this is one of the best by blur without a doubt

  • 1:08 WHY???!?!?!? DID HE GO?!?!?!?!

  • amazing

  • the greatest thing of Blur, definitely!

  • I wonder what went through their minds as they played this.

    so sad

  • @ScaryMonstahh Probably Graham Leaving :c

  • BLUR 4 letters 4 men 4 fucking ever !

  • @Szymek56 one left.

    there's 3 men.

  • Nevermind I figured it out. This is the hidden track from Battery In Your Leg, called My White Noise.

  • SO is there two songs called Battery in Your Leg? I have a song from Think Tank called the same but it's a nitty gritty song about all kinds of other shit then this mellow song.

  • This song will never die...soundtrack of my heart

  • Listen closely to the detail. This song = a farewell. Very sad song.

Damon has been quoting, saying this is the only song he ever wrote specifically about the band.

  • is it weird that i almost cryed listening to this?

  • @JustNoodle Not at all, means that you're alive.

  • Bottom line...Graham Coxon is jealous. In 99.9% of bands, he'd be the most talented member and run the show. Not the case here.

Damon conceded artistic control to Graham quite often, but he couldn't do it all the time. Read between the lines, that's the story. Listen closely to these lyrics. It's about a great band dying..."and they ain't comin back."

  • A great song.

  • A very deep intense song with a fantastic guitar sound. I luv Blur's music the more I get older..

  • So deep...that it can touch the soul.

That makes Blur a member of the "Good Side".

    The important side.

  • this is deep

  • wat append between graham n damon? wat append???

  • i just hear gorillaz...

  • Awesome song! I think my favorite from the album. Graham really does add a lot.

  • 1:36 simple.. yet so epic <3

  • This song reminds me of The Flaming Lips

  • This isn't about Graham... i think it's about the WHOLE band.

  • I like this song alot .

  • Magnifique.... cinq étoiles

  • nah this isnt battery in your leg

  • Graham Coxon's guitar line has a real Twin Peaks vibe about it. Anyone else catch that?

  • @jonnypops1984

Twin peaks I see what you meant.

  • I like the echoing sound... it adds so much to the song.

  • What was the fallout btw Damon & Graham? Was it jealousy? Or more to it than that?

  • "blur" and "think tank" are the 2 best album ever of blur

  • Damon was quoted as saying this was the only song he ever wrote about the band.

So I guess this is a tribute to Graham Coxon's departure, if u will.

  • Always tough to determine what a composer is writing about. This song is so sad, I believe it's about loss and illness. To fight off the illness we can "put a battery in your leg" so you can stick around longer.

Damon's swallowing @ Beg & End is intentional, too. Makes his message more personal.

  • Haven't listened to "Think Tank" in years. Wow, holds up very well! Damon reveals his soul on "Battery in Your Leg" and "Out of Time".

  • You can be with me if you wana be you can be with meeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Albarn piss's over the galleghers n music like this proves it!!!!

  • Think Tank is Blur's best album, anyone who says different is on that rock.

  • Accidental bromance between Graham and Damon in the opening slide?

  • What a great song and Coxon's guitar riff at 1:38 puts a shiver down my spine every time I hear this. Blur were awesome band and now in this day and age we have garbage like coldplay. atch the Blur documentary called Nowhere Left to Run.

  • ...if one guy writes a song like this one sort of for another guy, then they must've been very close. It really breaks my heart whenever I hear this. Losing a friend is one of the worst things that can happen to you.

  • I look back on life in the early 2000's, and I thought the days were worse then.. But now, the suffering is standard.

  • My Favorite, besides Beetlebum.

  • this shit is depressingly beautiful

  • @jgm1889 beautifully depressing* ;)

  • when I was teaching English in South Korea, I used to lie in this bed & look out over this alien city (il-san) & this song would repeat until I fell asleep...Usually thinking of Neil Cassady (I had only just discovered the beats) ~ this song became the theme song for 'On The Road' ~ & I recommend anyone try this on for size... ;')

  • I remember listening to this in 2005...and I thought times were bad....here I am now and things have gotten 100 times worse...

    like ive broken every bone

  • @zciweiksim and their still breaking. Aren't they. I know how u feel

  • @zciweiksim What do you mean times have gotten 100 times worse?

  • @zciweiksim WHY

  • this song is sometihng extreme absurd!! that so awesome, so strong

  • This is fantastic.

I can't bear Strange News From Another Star and this song together...one of the few songs that really can make my cry

  • Masterpiece... probably the best song ever written.. There's nothing else to say.

  • @84loneliness How can this be the best song ever when there's The Universal?

  • the chorus sounds like a airplane taking off on a runway, and fits perfectly. a glorious accomplishment i would say

  • albarn is a genius, love this track, good song also so beautiful

  • I agree

  • wow...

the riff @ 1.36 makes me cry evry time =]

  • i like this

  • oh yeah, and whats this song about.

  • about what you feel when you listen to it .

  • why did coxon leave the group?

  • Because he wanted to do his own thing. And at the time he was a heavy drinker and he failed to turn up 2 recording sessions, so Blur's Manager Chris Morrison told coxon that 4 this album blur would work better as a trio. So thats why Graham Coxon Left Blur

  • it's hard for me to think of think tank as a blur album. don't get me wrong, it's great it's just that without coxon, it doesn't feel like blur

  • You do know that the guitar is Coxon in this song?

  • yeah, i meant the rest of the album. i totally feel it in this song.

  • I find that song quite hard to listen to sometimes. Especially now because all the reunion shows are over. It was fun while it lasted x

  • One of their best songs. Figured this one out on the piano. Looking forward to more of their stuff.

  • This song makes me so sad....

    The text is so amazing...

I´m so glad that Graham join Blur again! T-T

  • yeah yeah yeah. Whatever you say bro. The new jack is a redheaded elvis

  • anyone else hear radiohead? radiohead started in '85 & the blur in '88 but im not sure who influenced who

  • no, no and no. go out and buy blur and 13, both albums made before kid a, and 13 is definitely more experimental than kid a, and this song sounds nothing like any kid a songs. think tank is a good album, just not as good as their other stuff, and it's not capitalizing off kid a, both albums are completely different.

  • I think Think Tank is Blurs best album.

  • their self-titled record is phenomenal

  • @tuxedosponge

'country sad ballad man', 'strange news from another star', 'you're so great', 'mor', 'death of the party', 'beetlebum'... 'song 2' ofc...

    graham did great job there

  • Agreed. He has a minimalist approach to guitar riffs that's second to none. Beetlebum may be the best example.

  • I'm a great fan of Blur but you can't say anything bad about Kid A, it's one of the best album I've ever listen to

  • @harrytheblurfan Kid A is far more experimental than 13!

  • @ezeqyell I know right

  • @ezeqyell I like Radiohead and I've not got anything against them, I just feel 13 is a more experimental album, you'll disagree cause clearly Radiohead are your favourite band. Still though, if it wasn't for the success of 13 EMI wouldn't have released Kid A, that's how much power Blur used to have. Thank Blur for your Kid A.

  • awesome drumming

  • Yeah, Dave Rowntree was always underrated.

  • think tank is fucking brilliant

  • Comment removed

  • damons vocals are simply brilliant

  • Beautiful, so sad and full of sorrow....Great!

  • the vocals remind me of his gorillaz work

  • graham coxon is a wizard

  • Hmm.... So beautiful...

  • this song is so beautiful, One of Blur's best

  • quite right squirehorse, an outstanding descending melody with nice atmouspherics.

  • You're Graham.

  • fuck me thats some nice guitar playing. graham coxon, one of the greatest guitarists ever

  • very true but i think damon did most of the guitar work on this one. does anyone know??

    HYDE PARK YAY

  • nah, its the only tune which graham coxon played guitar on think tank. sadly......

because i think its amazing. such a beautiful descending guitar line

  • it is an exceptional decsending guitar line.

that song is amazing through headphones.

  • yo, gave you thumbs up.......please give me your pick for best headphones. random, i know, but why not? this song wields much sound power. must hear it well. peace.

  • Try Pioneer HDJ 1000. I recommend.

    :D

  • This sounds just like Gorillaz since Damon Albarn is so much older for this song.

Quick Question: Was Damon Albarn still with Blur when he started the Gorillaz project?

  • The first Gorillaz album came out in 2001, two years before Think Tank came out.

  • ok thx

  • awesome drumming

  • You should listen to Stewart Copeland-he does some REALLY awesome drumming.

  • OK I don't like over the top drumming.. I like well timed technically weird rhythm stuff

  • indeed , sounds pretty clean and soft .

  • I have tickets :)

  • Its official BLUR ARE BACK july 3 hyde park london (there is justice in this world) WHOOOO HOOOOOO

  • You have 'Bang' in your favourites. That's just just you being ironic, right?

  • this is the last graham's song with blur...

    please come back in 2009

  • Blur are comming back in 2009. Long live Blur!!!

  • 0:30-Faith + 1!!!(those who watched South Park know what I mean)

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames TOTALLY! :D

  • Both photos are funny. Seriously, are there Blur photos that aren't funny???

  • I know that lots of people thinks that "Think Tank" isn't a good album, just because Graham is not in ti (exept this one).... Honestly, I love Think Tank, and I think us better than Blur y 13... and this songn makes me cry...

  • Watched Blur perform this at the Manchester Apollo several years back and I have three words to sum it up... better than sex

  • why did they stop?

  • Damon Albarn rocks...too bad graham left

  • sexy song

  • i miss you blur

    quiero llorar

    :(

    buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

pero este NO ES BATTERY IN YOUR LEG

NO SE CUAL SEA PERO ME ENCANTA!!!!

    BLUR LIFE FOREVER

    IN MY HEART

  • THIS IS NOT BATTERY IN YOUR LEG.

this one is called My White Noise its a hidden track.

  • ha, wrong. get your shit straight man.

  • moderate your lenguage moron

  • oh the irony.

  • EPIC FAILURE > 9000

  • well, whatever you want to call it, its a great song

  • This IS Battery in your Leg!

  • I have a very different song in the Think Tank album but also named Battery in Your Leg.

And it sounds much harsher than this version.

    The chorus is like:

"and when you move, move, move, move

and you push, push, push, push

and when you trip over yourself and you think to yourself

    'Why am I here?

I'm here because I've got no fuxing choice'

[And then some strange screaming part]"

And to be honest, I like that version/song better.

  • Ok suddenly I got it(thanks to Wikipedia, strangely). But forreal, I thought that was Battery in Your Leg as it was mentioned that this song is about the departure of Coxon or whatever, and I thought the lyrics was sang by Coxon to show how he actually hated singing with Blur.

    Damn I was complete wrong.

  • That's 'Me, White Noise' it's s hidden track, if you rewind 'Ambulance' for a couple of minutes then let go the song should be playing

  • So sad, I hope Coxon can get his life back together.

  • I hope that they will meet themselves one day... I love Blur, so sweet music.

  • great song!

  • More bad news: Damon Albarn: "I had dinner with the guys recently and it was laugh but there's no way they want to work with me again -- they all hate me," he said. "A reunion is not going to happen."He also said the rest of the group weren't as committed as him, saying: "Alex(James, bassist) is writing books and making cheese and Dave (Rowntree, drummer) is moving into politics. I've always said if you want to be a musician you have to dedicate yourself to it and do it every day."

  • Bad news: Blur guitarist Graham Coxon has explained why the much-feted Blur reunion never occurred. However Coxon explained that when the band met up for a meal before the recording date, they didn't actually discuss recording, so never followed it up."We met for a catch-up and it was great, but there was no real talk of recording". NME 30/01/2008

  • I love this song.

  • I just love this song. I've made a nice remix of it :)

  • True, hopefully Graham will put his differences aside and make some more good music with the rest of Blur cos they all want him back, just waiting till August now...

  • they have already done it, but the thing is that they feel blur time has gone, the four of them, not only coxon and damon. maybe its the best thing, cause think thank, is not good as their early albums, its better to part in the top than vanished little by little

  • so it's coxon's fault blur broke up?

  • by the looks of it, not his last song ever with blur.. but my fingers are still crossed

  • We miss you Graham :(
