@Jarekthegamingdragon When people say 50 cal they're not always referring to the .50 BMG. A 50 calibre round is a round that is half an inch across. This includes the .500 Magnum, the .50 AE you get in Desert Eagles and of course, the .50 BMG.

@Jeff3230 the one i shot was a 2 3/4 inch barrel. i have problems saying exactly the lenght, i'm not used to american measures yet. The ak, from what i know, is a 30 caliber. and yes i "shot a gun". i shoot since i'm like 6 or 7 years old.

Then you would know that a AK47 is a 30 cal which is .30 of an inch. This gun is a 50 cal which means it's .50 of and inch and it has almost twice the gun powder! On top of that the AK47 rifle weighs 5 times more than this handgun which means you have no weight to damper the recoil!

BTW you have to get your facts straight. They DO NOT MAKE a 2 3/4 inch barrel 500. The smallest is a 4 inch which is what this one is. Look it up.

I think the reason why you are not understanding is because you're not getting that this is a 50 caliber lol. We say cal just like you do. We have a 38 and 45 here in our house. It's the same measurement as you. But this is a 50 caliber! Another thing is you say deasert eagle. Thing is... they make the DE in 357 mag 44 mag and 50 AE. This is and S&W 500 and it only comes in 50 caliber lol! Not to mention the DE weighs a ton compared to this gun. Way less recoil.

@Jeff3230 accually Smith &Wesson released a Emergency survival kit that came with a 460 or 500 smith 2 3/4 barreled revolver. They had either bright orange or yellow grips depending on which caliber you chose. Far as I know they are not in production any more but there are 2 3/4 barreled 500's out there just like there are the first proto types with no comp and wooden grips.

@Jeff3230 even if I've heard that a .460 revolver has a stronger recoil the .500 S&W, the 4 inch gun a REALLY big boom. I've only shot 5 rounds with it and afterwards my hands were aching heavily.

But if you know about the recoil and hold the revolver properly, it's really precise gun. And don't forget, at the moment where you feel the recoil, the bullet is still out of the barrel.

@WeWantGoodCovers Well if you think that then you must have been shooting some normal factory loads which are quite down loaded from what the revolver is accually capable of. The 500 is a saami 60,000 psi cartridge. The factorys only load it to about 48,000psi. Check out Ross's data he gets 1950fps out of a 400gr. aka just shy of 3400ftlbs of energy. (still with in saami) 400's beyond 1800 fps are not fun to shoot at all.
