I don't think I ever saw this episode as a kid, if I did I think I would remember running screaming from the room at the first skeliton scene. I had a major phobia of skelitons, didn't relize I had one until a few years ago though. My parents thought I just got scared of scary stuff but recantly I relized it was the skelitons that always did it.

To be honest, I enjoy the mythical, dark, and supernatural elements played in the series. But I sorta wish they'd go back to something normal like fighting HUMANS again. Too many aliens and undead... Gangs and mad scientists... I sorta miss those in this series.... oh, and Shredder making multiple appearances rather than him getting killed every time they see him.

You don't need stronger enemies. You need cunning opponents and new situations to test the turtles. Krang was a freaking pile of pink snot. It was his inventions and his schemes that kept the old series good. Meanwhile, it was the Shredder who was always stronger than the turtles. Yeah, there were other villains, but he'd always keep the turtles on edge (until the series got ridiculous). More ninja action, smart situations, a touch of humor, and the comic grittiness.

the darker parts of the turtles' lives have been touched a long time ago. before the 1980s cartoon, the comics made by Eastman and Laird were dark and edgy, much like what this show was trying to do: make it dark and edgy so they can bring the turtle back to its original fame.
