He still can sing like it was still the 70s, awesome stuff. This is something those so call singers of today could learn....how to sing LIVE, now that I think of it...to sing PERIOD.
People don't SING like this anymore, all we hear are studio versions of a voice. The 70s and 80s musicians and singers beat any artistes of today by MILES!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah! 2nd grade! Man...this is one tune I'd forgotten from those early year's...before I started music this song made an impact-this song really touches me! It's a perfect tune! Paul Carrack is a great singer-songwriter!
1975, senior year smalltown in NH, came from big town in NJ, what a trip. Brian SM>>>S, Nancy Lang>>>, where are you now. Left NH at 17, skipped a year in 5th, off to NYC back to the big city....still I ask myself how long.....has this been going on..Hope to see some of you again...just don'tknow how long it will take....
Excellent Artist, but very underrated. Good music seems ot be placed on the back burner, because these are artist that will not comparmise what true music represents. This is music you treasure and lives on forever. You'd be surprised if music such as this as well as more was presented to our youth, they would really embrace more then we think. Yet at times we think they see it as not hip. Some may feel that way but others don't Share the music and it will show them true music. Peace -Thanks
If Paul had ever just stuck with one band and actually had the ego to promote himself he would be recognized as one of the greatest singers ever, which his talent dictates. If I were him I would be on TV and the radio 24/7 saying "yes, I am the second best singer ever, (only behind Freddie Mercury, IMHO), and you should recognize. Guess he has more class than I would have though lol.
@andytrev31 We go to a PC concert at least once a year, twice this year, to remind us of the brillance that is Paul Carrack and his band, you are not alone my friend, we share your thoughts. Already have tickets for the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield for the February gig.
This song and singer is one of the greatest, I adore this song, and Paul Carrack's new song is absolutely brilliant. Mike & The Mechanics one of the most underrated bands ever.
I didn't know Paul was in Ace, Squeeze, AND Mike and the Mechanics. I just never put it together, even tho I should have since he has such a distinctive voice. I love each and every one of them.
One of my favourite songs of all time. Pauls voice was so unique (and still is) and i recall the guitar solo blew me away when i first heard it. Reminds me of my very first love in December 1974.(happy memories!) It's great to see the guitarist here did exactly the same solo, note for note.
Finally! I found it; been looking for this music video - I have great memories with this song growing up in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles - Go Cleveland Cavaliers!
Amazing!!!!!!

How often do you see a musician that can sing better at age 55 than they could at 25. He really lays it down towards the end of this song.

Nice performance. Carrack still has it.
Underrated artist. Three big hits with three different bands - he's like the Joe Gibbs of music.

The prestige is nothing without talent.
