Arlen is the best. I studied with him in 1975 and he really opened up my playing, and is the biggest musical influence on me. He's the sweetest guy and had something unbelieveably horrendous happen to him and his family. He's the sweetest guy and did not deserve what happened, to say the least. I don't know about classical though. This is a blues technique, to me,.

Arlen is a much more subtle player who is - different to Clapton- able to play more than a pentatonic scale all night long. Clapton once was great but like Santana has not added one single note to his playing in the last 20 years. Sorry that is my opinon. Period.
