Trying to remove the display from a Sony VGNNW320F - the hinges are different from this - much narrower. If the hinges have covers I can't see how to get them off. I think they do because there seem to still be two screwws holding the display bezel in place.

What is the weirdest cracked screen on a laptop you have seen because the crack on mine goes from the center of the top of the screen, then goes right across the top and then goes to the two bottom corners and two large ones at the middle and a few small ones at random places but I can still use it but it is getting repaired .

@oncall258dotcom Actually I can just tell you. Its not the screen as much as its your fan. I recommend that you remove your bottom plastic placement of the laptop and locate the fan. Dust it out, and clean the whole board system because dust is what really kills a computer or laptop through time ( I still own a Dell Washboard). Then clean all vents that the fan breaths form and might as well clean all surrounding vents. There you go!

Check the wire, then inverter, then the screen. As for color blurs, If they are blotches, the screen is damaged. If they are lines, the inverter is bad or the cable is bad or loose. Check them all. I work with laptops alot.

@jaydrums101 this could often be a lot of things. a thing to try would be to shut the laptop down. unplug the mains ower, remove the battery and then hold the ower button down for atleast 30 seconds. then put the battery and mains power back in and try it again. if this does not work then it's either a screen problem (which is only likely if the laptop has recieved physical damage) in most cases it's a motherboard problem which is more expensive and is uaually cheaper to replace the lapto
