one thing people might notice is that the motion blur setting is not available in the crysis benchmark, it doestn,t have big fps difference though but it matters.

In Sli/CF is the quality very bad.. and in games you have some microstutter(particularly in Stalker) and a Single GPu runs Smoother than a SLI system!! i have a GTX 260 SLI system and a HD 5870 and the HD 5870 is much much BETTER in quality and it runs much smoother and the performance is better too.

Something I would consider would be taking four GTX 480's and putting them into a 4 way SLI mode. But you'd need a PSU with massive wattage, as in something with 2000+ watts :O

Hey Trubritar, I've never used sli before, how does crysis handle microstutter with regards to 2 and 4 way sli with gtx 285's? What I'm mainly asking is if 1 gtx 285 or 2 gtx 285's over feels smoother overall.

@TheCheesyProductions he's running two 1300w psu's which is a bit over kill you can use 2 800w psu's with 6 6pins each. there aren't very many psu's that have 12 6pin connectors. the only 1 i can think of is the true power 1200 quattro oc edition by antec but have fun finding one, they are really rare

Why? This would all be fair if they came out at the same time but since the 5000 series is out right now it is fair to compare them because they are actually competing in real life right now. It is Nvidia's fault for being slow and that shouldn't exempt them from being compared to ati's latest cards thats just silly.

I own a GTX 275 OC to- but dude When Nvidia was ruling the roost and had the fastest silicon out, people werent comparing them with the fastest ATI card which was worlds behind at the time. What do you mean barely? There's huge improvements each year in gfx cards, CPU's arent advancing as fast.. There always seems to be a time when some expert will say they can't go any further, but then they find a new material or new way to manufacture stuff smaller etc.. depends alot on the resolution your gonna play at. @ 1680 x 1050 I can play on max settings though in some intense parts of the game you might drop down to the 30-40's in fps but I would say even with a single 295 just about any of the settings are playable.
