This shows, definitely we are aproaching, worlds mental end!

Now the question Mr.?What pencil do you use?.Thanks in advance.

    Nice drawing

  • gay

It was probably not you who did that painting. you just colorued the begining of the hair for some reason.. So fuck you faggot. That wasn't your picture. Fuuuck you

  • @RambOFreAc hahaha!!!!! funny comment

  • 69 people disliked this just because.

  • Needs to be darker.

  • what is it?

  • Suckishhh

  • i got scared when the music started

  • sorry but my pube hairs look better than that

  • nice

  • good

  • tha blank space in hair ist too big.. dont act like professional

  • I hate trying to do realistic hair. I prefer anime myself. Very good though. I would like to do realistic hair and faces sometime.

  • watcing Portrait pencil drawing test "LimbimHomey"

  • this is showing u the top of de hair

  • That was GREAT and I learnt A LOT, so THANKS for your vid & keep up the good work :-)

  • that's was bad i didn't learn anything new :x

  • it'd be nice if you focused the camera. most of this you can't see in focus...

  • errrrr......

  • lol dude i think u need lesons from me . its ok i i guess, im lookin 4 realistic hair

  • where r u from?

& how many years toke u to do this? i just was watching ur page & ur drawn's r really great,im just starting & i want realism too.

    WHAT IS THAT SHIT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I can't belive, it is awesome, you idiot, sho up our drawes!!!! Sorry for the bad english, i'm from onother country...

    amazing drawing though.

  • she did 9 lines..and its over!?

    what is that shit?!

  • omg i know and that was friggin graphite!

i'm having issues with drawing hair with a 4B pencil. i sharpen it, tone it and it still doesn't come out as crazy as those celeb portraits.

sure i could cheat with photoshop but nah.

  • How is Photoshop cheating???

  • I don't know what Romeo ment, but I assume that when you do a drawing on paper and edit it with photoshop without giving a notice about it than yeah, its cheating =3

  • Oh, I see.

Yeah, I suppose a paper artist editing in Photoshop could be seen as cheating - well, at least feel like cheating to the artist. I just thought s/he meant using Photoshop itself is cheating.

I've created some wonderful paintings (not usually one to blow my own trumpet) in Photoshop and don't consider myself a cheat.

    :oP

  • how is photoshop cheating?

  • HEY IF YOU CAN'T DRAW TO SAVE YOUR FILE,SHUT THE HECK UP!

It is totally normal that she did so little lines in such a big period of time...

Drawing hair is very difficult and long, takes a lot of time and patience okay?

Sorry for this outburst but it was really needed that I say it!!

  • @noy676 samething my art teahcer does-.-

  • The finished product looks amazing on DeviantArt!

  • that is some pretty amazing shading. Nice job! You are super talented.

  • hair is a little to flesh with the skull. It has no volume. But the individual strands look wonderful.

  • u need not be rude. It is very good!

  • is that a pencil or a ball pen

  • pencil u dont usualy use ball points for that type of shading

  • zZzZzZ, That will take forever!

  • lol so true

    it looks good though

  • You don't need to be that precise when drawing the hair. On all my portraits, drawing the hair took about 20 minutes, and that's a whole head of hair. Mine turned out pretty good even though they seemed rushed.

  • So the only way to draw realistic hair is to use one of those pencils? If so, i gotta buy me some... :(

  • Also, yauchomifan, no, you don't need one of THOSE pencils to draw realistic hair, you can also use charcoil [is that how you say it? :S i have no idea, english is my second language..] and chalk! It's just so much fun to experiment XD

  • I can draw faces realistic in anything (charcoal, pencil, paint etc) but i can't do hair. And i've tried Charcoal and Chalk and still... turns out kinda crap. I mean i could do good hair with pencil but when you put so much attention on the face you lose interest in the drawing when you do hair. Lol.

  • hahyeh i agreee

  • haha NO..you don't need THOSE pencils..you can use a regular number 2 pencil even..but sometimes it's nice to have different types of pencils you know?

  • they do

but its easier (for most people) to draw from pictures, because live models can sometimes move there face around after you draw it and it messes the whole thing up

so if you have a still photo, nothing changes

  • I draw models, I think it's fun XD (not for them.. sitting there not doing anything), but it's good practice because you have to be quick and stuff.

Of course ppl still draw from a picture because it's easier.. but i'd rather do a model, it's more fun and you gain experience :D!

  • do you look off a picure or draw from head

  • 90% of artists draw from some sort of reference, its mostly a picture because a picture, rather that life, is always consistant

the only artists that draw from head are usually graffiti and cartoon artits

  • There was a reference picture from one of Alsou's photosessions. It is still a wonderful learning experience.

  • omg whoevers hatin u should go see the final result that they posted the link in the details it looks amazing only i might say bad about it is like if u look kinda closely the head kinda looks a lil 2 big 4 her body but w/e i still think its beautiful.

    great job!

  • definitly agree, that it is beautiful!!!

  • People who are complaining ...you are NOT forced to watch this video against your will. The hair is very detailed and good in that matter..there is nothing wrong with having room for improvement

  • The part is not that noticeable.... check your own in a mirror. it will help :)

  • it is really good but knowones hair is that flat

  • i know seriously it is like it geled to there head

  • well believe it or not, my friend has hair like that rofl

  • lol foreal i've seen hair like that down here in miami n most grls prefer it like that cuz it looks better like that in a ponytail & then they make the ponytail like poofy or really curly so yea w.e

  • well in this video i dont think your really doing anything .....why didnt you record it when you were just starting cuz from the beggining you were finished

  • im sorry but i found this vid pointless and the hair ugly i mean i would need to a pic of the person but if that camme out of your mind its wrong. the hair is sticking to the scalp and it looks retarded

  • err, its called a mechanical pencil, and they're the best

  • why are u drawing with a ticktick pencil ^_-

  • cause the line is very thin and I can make the drawing more detailed.

  • @cl11625 no need to sharpen it constaly either

  • ok, SHE. duh.

  • So...did you critics actually go and see the finish drawing? Or the others in the gallery? Yes, this drawing would have suffered if every hair was not drawn. It's not anime for chrissakes. And I really don't think ellekazan would spent that much time if he/she didn't LOVE it. It's hard to do inspired work if you don't love the PROCESS.

    Anyway, AMAZING work!

  • redrocket201, thank you! That is so true. The process of doing one hair at a time did very well for the realistic-looking hairline and stray hair.

  • just 1 sugesstions add some friz no ones hair stay to there head like that

  • lol...i agree funny

  • heh was u showing how to draw the hair? or was you showing how to touch it up :P

  • It is not a tutorial. It's just how I did it.

  • Video is titled "Drawing Hair," so duh.

  • How I'm, me drawing hair. Not "How to draw hair". I see no problem in that)))))

  • The way you drew it turned out OK but another way to render hair is to draw the shapes and the tonal values first then you neeed only indicate the hair in certain areas rather than painstakingly try to draw every strand. You have talent but you would probably benefit from learning some techniques and skills. Keep drawing. oh, BTW, Check out Barret's Drawing video and watch how he does hair.

  • Nice, But Boring!

  • It's good technique, but more like how to daw a part than how to draw hair.

  • did she ever say that this was a video on how to draw hair? Nope.

  • "How?" Is totally up to you - there are plenty tutorials on the web. Here is how I did it on this drawing.

  • i love absolute realistic drawings. the better your quality is the bader is the quality of your cam ;-)

  • ???

  • You suck! Its amazing!

  • this is good but wholly if i spent that much time on a drawing for a client i would lose a lot of money...check out my drawing vids and see what i mean

  • the ivd lasted 2 minutes?

  • check the comments below...he spent a month or so on this...!!!

  • Well, it's not for a client - just some fanart for me. And if it would not be that much time it wouldn't be so realistic.

  • i think you just need to learn better techniques...check out my display pic on my page...it took me 2 hours and i think it looks exactly like the photo...your drawing is good but oh man you have way too much spare time

  • damn, as an artist myself, i hate drawing hair, im good but hair can be such a pain in the butt and normally takes longer than any other part of a portrait. lol

  • that's well drawn but...I didn't understand whether you were making a tutorial on how to draw hair or just showing us your skills at drawing. It'd be more entertaining in a sped up video. And next, you don't have to literally draw every strand of hair. We don't see every strand of hair, we only see groups of hair. You could have gotten the same effect if you had put down a base shade and then rubbed off the lighter areas and then add the detail of the hair. It would be much faster.

  • I was just showing how I did it on that drawing.

And Yes I had to draw every hair because that's the area where you can see every hair.

  • don't get me wrong, it's very good, depending on the size, and in comparison to the hand it doesn't look much bigger than 8 by 10, the hairs will just blend as you pull away and look less defined. Just don't forget to step back and look at it from another angle. I do admire your skill so please don't take this as an attack on your technique because it's not. I just don't want to see you spend a lot of time and not get the most out of the picture. Keep drawing, you're very good at it.

  • (A4 size paper) About the angle - you are so right. That is exactly what I do. And when it is turned, it always looks better. That's kinda cool.

  • OMG that is so well and neatly drawn

  • Thank you!

  • prefer if you show the starting and work yr way to the end product.

  • Sorry. Dont have the tech to do that.

  • it didnt show me ANYTHING. sure the drawing is WICKED awesome, but it doesnt show when you started.

  • I did the drawing for over a month and a half! I don't think it would be in any way possible (no matter how cool) to document that. And I didn't think then it would turn out to be... quite good. I filmed it a little and that was it (poor quality of the video was discouraging).

The point here is to show how I did the dark areas by the roots of the hair and the strokes themselves. It was just a try anyway.

  • very good 5\5

  • Thank you!

  • DANG THAT'S REALLY GOOD

  • :-) Thanks!

  • Awesome talent!

  • Thanks!
