It was probably not you who did that painting. you just colorued the begining of the hair for some reason.. So fuck you faggot. That wasn't your picture. Fuuuck you
A few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand
I don't know what Romeo ment, but I assume that when you do a drawing on paper and edit it with photoshop without giving a notice about it than yeah, its cheating =3
Yeah, I suppose a paper artist editing in Photoshop could be seen as cheating - well, at least feel like cheating to the artist. I just thought s/he meant using Photoshop itself is cheating.
I've created some wonderful paintings (not usually one to blow my own trumpet) in Photoshop and don't consider myself a cheat.
You don't need to be that precise when drawing the hair. On all my portraits, drawing the hair took about 20 minutes, and that's a whole head of hair. Mine turned out pretty good even though they seemed rushed.
Also, yauchomifan, no, you don't need one of THOSE pencils to draw realistic hair, you can also use charcoil [is that how you say it? :S i have no idea, english is my second language..] and chalk! It's just so much fun to experiment XD
I can draw faces realistic in anything (charcoal, pencil, paint etc) but i can't do hair. And i've tried Charcoal and Chalk and still... turns out kinda crap. I mean i could do good hair with pencil but when you put so much attention on the face you lose interest in the drawing when you do hair. Lol.
haha NO..you don't need THOSE pencils..you can use a regular number 2 pencil even..but sometimes it's nice to have different types of pencils you know?
No. There are different ways to draw hair. I'm sure you could find lots of tutorials on the web. In my other drawings I used mech. pencil a little less. Simple pencil just sharpened works as well
but its easier (for most people) to draw from pictures, because live models can sometimes move there face around after you draw it and it messes the whole thing up
omg whoevers hatin u should go see the final result that they posted the link in the details it looks amazing only i might say bad about it is like if u look kinda closely the head kinda looks a lil 2 big 4 her body but w/e i still think its beautiful.
People who are complaining ...you are NOT forced to watch this video against your will. The hair is very detailed and good in that matter..there is nothing wrong with having room for improvement
lol foreal i've seen hair like that down here in miami n most grls prefer it like that cuz it looks better like that in a ponytail & then they make the ponytail like poofy or really curly so yea w.e
well in this video i dont think your really doing anything .....why didnt you record it when you were just starting cuz from the beggining you were finished
im sorry but i found this vid pointless and the hair ugly i mean i would need to a pic of the person but if that camme out of your mind its wrong. the hair is sticking to the scalp and it looks retarded
So...did you critics actually go and see the finish drawing? Or the others in the gallery? Yes, this drawing would have suffered if every hair was not drawn. It's not anime for chrissakes. And I really don't think ellekazan would spent that much time if he/she didn't LOVE it. It's hard to do inspired work if you don't love the PROCESS.
The way you drew it turned out OK but another way to render hair is to draw the shapes and the tonal values first then you neeed only indicate the hair in certain areas rather than painstakingly try to draw every strand. You have talent but you would probably benefit from learning some techniques and skills. Keep drawing. oh, BTW, Check out Barret's Drawing video and watch how he does hair.
this is good but wholly if i spent that much time on a drawing for a client i would lose a lot of money...check out my drawing vids and see what i mean
i think you just need to learn better techniques...check out my display pic on my page...it took me 2 hours and i think it looks exactly like the photo...your drawing is good but oh man you have way too much spare time
damn, as an artist myself, i hate drawing hair, im good but hair can be such a pain in the butt and normally takes longer than any other part of a portrait. lol
that's well drawn but...I didn't understand whether you were making a tutorial on how to draw hair or just showing us your skills at drawing. It'd be more entertaining in a sped up video. And next, you don't have to literally draw every strand of hair. We don't see every strand of hair, we only see groups of hair. You could have gotten the same effect if you had put down a base shade and then rubbed off the lighter areas and then add the detail of the hair. It would be much faster.

ellekazan 3 years ago
they do
but its easier (for most people) to draw from pictures, because live models can sometimes move there face around after you draw it and it messes the whole thing up
so if you have a still photo, nothing changes
hinkershnikle 3 years ago 5
I draw models, I think it's fun XD (not for them.. sitting there not doing anything), but it's good practice because you have to be quick and stuff.
Of course ppl still draw from a picture because it's easier.. but i'd rather do a model, it's more fun and you gain experience :D!
eliichocolate 3 years ago
do you look off a picure or draw from head
zackiekins 3 years ago
90% of artists draw from some sort of reference, its mostly a picture because a picture, rather that life, is always consistant
the only artists that draw from head are usually graffiti and cartoon artits
hinkershnikle 3 years ago 12
There was a reference picture from one of Alsou's photosessions. It is still a wonderful learning experience.
