I sit in my lounge room listening to this on the computer and thinking why arent I at the pub listening on the juke box . THEN I REMEMBERED ALL THE OLD PUBS ARE GONE .
A fantastic album one which I have enjoyed thousands of time over, Postcard from elvis and Danielle & Sittin in A bar are my favoritesthey also did another album called All is forgiven I also believe that there is a live album out there somewhere, but I have never seen it.
i just wanna say thanks to the cruel sea for providing many a tune fo alot r a good mello piss wrecking sessions the 90`s where a great time cruel sea kicked hard
It would be great if someone had the movie soundtrack version - I think it's a just way way better even than this. The lyrics a a little different, they bring a bit more desparation, and I think the delivery is edgier too
It's the one that says "Is there a telephone, in this ... dump. I need to call a friend..."
I saw Tex, Don & Charlie at Mojo's in perth for the release of this album.
great show but man, Tex is one angry dude hey. He kept getting annoyed at the audience for talking while he was performing. You gotta undersand.. Mojo's is a really small PUB (not a club/arena) and people were there to enjoy themselves, have a drink and hear some great music. He was so moody about it thou. Saw him the next night at watershed and he actually appologised for his behaviour the night before. Nice one Tex!
F***, this is great music - makes me feel like i'm back at The Venue in St Kilda before it became the Novatel. God I fel old. Bring back Brady Bunch Lawnmower Massacre and Died Pretty and good Aussie music and SMOKING IN PUBS.
I saw Tex, Don & Charlie at The Conti in prahran when this album came out. Was so fricken awesome. Conway Savage on the Keys with them as well that night was killer!
From the best but most overlooked Aussie album ever.
The whole album smeels like a pub carpet at 4.oo am, beer soaked, dirty and downtrodden and with a hint of the first morning mist bringing a cold focus to yet another hangover.
Top Stuff.

'Louise' would have to be my favourite song off this album, but the 'Sunday Morning Coming Down' is the best ever I believe.

Best Tex Don and Charlie song ever! Reminds me of living in Canberra in '94...cold, lonely and love unrequited...
