They use to use hovercraft for sea and ice rescue in Green Bay WI. I don't know if they still do. I think it would be a great rescue machine in winter storms where thje roads are out.
4 Hovercraft operational within the RNLI. Morecambe, New Brighton, Hunstanton and Southend on Sea. There are also 2 releif at Poole also used for training including a Brand new one H007 which was first used at Hunstanton operationally.
Hovercraft can be a little noisy but their environmental impact is low compared to other vehicles. Will be up at Morecambe with my Hover sometime soon!
