  • Wonderful song !

  • look at joan as a young woman , how very beautifull

  • This is a real tribute to Libba, I can just imagine her nodding and smiling her approval. It almost sounds like Joan Baez accompanied by Elizabeth Cotten on guitar. WONDERFUL, it made me cry.

  • I got so excited when I saw this in the suggestion column!

  • Wonderful.

  • I first heard it played by Bonnie Guitar, still beautiful.

  • I just love Joan's voice and guitar picking......

  • The voice !

    she still the One !

  • Remember this song gIving such inspiration to us kids...loved this song and Joan sings it so good....

  • esta música no es accesible pero la mierda del pop hasta hartaaaa

  • When I was in elementary school, my teacher would print lyrics out and we had our music time. I've always remembered this song, and quite frankly it's the only one I do remember. I don't recall listening to the original, just remember a bunch of us kids singing this song and it was good. I'm glad I found this. It just popped into my head out of nowhere and I had to look it up. That was so long ago. I graduated high school last week and finding this song gives me a very nostalgic feeling. Thanks!

  • I love this song, but can't remember when or where I first heard it. Joan Baez makes it come alive for me.

  • Simply beautiful. I first heard the song, when I was a teenager, sung by Rusty Draper. It stuck with me for years, but I found out the song was written and sung by Elizabeth Cotton and Joan's version is so much closer to the original. I just wish I could have heard Elizabeth sing and play it when she was in her prime. When all is said and done, it is a classic.

  • Yes, Joan had many idols she learned from when she was growing up. Elizabeth Cotten was one of them. Take care!

  • This is on of the most beautiful songs anyone could listen to. The lovely cover really lives up to the original too. I'd really appreciate it if someone could send me this song or post me a link.

  • Thanks for posting this song. It is taken from "Very Early Joan" album. I really love this album. She was so young but her voice was so mature! And it makes me remember a very good period of my youth! Thanks again!
