so true.my life was desroyed 2 years ago,wen i tryed...to...i sadly tryed suicide.didnt work.Nick,my bf,was at my house and found me on the bathroom floor with the razer in my hand and a huge,deep gash in my neck.i'm not proud of it.if it wasnt 4 the scar,no-one wood have found out.now i'm happy to be alive and with Nick,and i got help.i try not to cut,but sumtimes life gets too much.srry

I feel your struggle. I have never attempted suicide but I am suffering from SI. I dont bruse myself or have any sort of eating disorder, I cut as well. I do not cut every day like I used to, but every once in awhile, I crave the relief too much. :(

Thats true. I think there are a few sides to the issue of hiding the scars. There are so many judgments and uninformed beliefs. But even if we did want attention...that's not the kind of attention id ever want.

I hide mine because if I were to get the guts to let them show, people would say I want attention. When really it's the exact opposite. :(

Living with this secret is a huge weight. I agree that its better not to hide them. I think that if a person gets to that point it shows growth and definitely courage. But I haven't reached that point. Maybe someday.
