it's markedly louder than the screamin' eagle exhaust with the quiet baffles on the V&H shortshots but does sound throatier than without the quiet baffles. you also get better performance at low end torque at the expense of really "opening up" on the highway once you're already going 70mph. if you want loud...this is the path. i've got a crossbones now with screamin' eagle pipes and wish it was a little louder but am happy not to have my old 883 with V&H because it was just too much for me.
Put Screamin'Eagle II pipes--the older illegal kind I located on E-Bay-- on my Heritage to re-gain lost torque from the Vance Hines I used to run. Actually the sound is better and I can see the improved performance with rapid acceleration.
I have Short Shots and Screaming eagle air cleaner. I love the sound and don´t want to make it quiet, but many people says as u did about that DEEPER sound that is much HARLEY SIGNATURE, so tomorrow I will ask my dealer to order quiet baffles ;-))
awesome bike !!! I love that sound, and I am about to get the V&H shortshots. with the quiet baffles, is the sound still much louder than with the screaming eagle exhaust?
The standard had a nice raspy sound, but the quiet baffles produce a deeper sound that I prefer. It will also give you back the low end power that is lost with the standard baffles since there's more back pressure with the quiet baffles
Nice vid. That's WITH the quiet baffles in? It still seems pretty loud, but hard to tell on video of course. How would you compare the sound (with quiet baffles) to the stock exhaust?
the exhaust pipes are remus?

did you notice much performance difference with the baffles in? Did you have to remap efi after installing baffles? thanks!
dgmphotography 1 year ago
@dgmphotography
Yes the difference was noticeable. I don't have a tuner, only the x14ieds. Never remapped or anything

Did you put in the baffles yourself ? Is it hard?
tucketsail 1 year ago
@tucketsail Not hard at all. Each baffle is secured by one screw.

What camera/camcorder are you using? The picture quality is amazing.

That's a nice looking bike. Why did you install quiet baffles? Didn't you like the standard baffles that came with the exhaust?
