yo!!! if you like drums check out my Greatest Rock Drums vid....i just made it,,, i really need some feedback and comments. I love percussion work like this so if your a fan of music ill look forward to ur feedback..peace!!
I first heard of Ed on the Steely Dan album Aja (I think). The cut was called "I Got the News". I just love the drum groove on that track and the way it interacts with the piano comping.
Hi Bob, Jeez I hate to be the 'do you have tabs guy' but if you get a chance could you scan the transcription in and put it up on a site somewhere? Maybe it's already up. Couldn't find it though.
Ed"THE MACHINE"Green is one of the greatest session drummers of our time. His list is too long to list, but here's some :the friends of distinction, donald byrd, barry whites main drummer on all his recordings, marvin gaye, gene page,a lot of motown west sessions, the jacksons, steely dan,Daryl Hall & John Oates, and many other great soul and pop albums.
Good stuff. Thanks for posting that up. Question for Bob, what kind of neck is on your bass. Graphite? Thanks again, the music was great and the backstory was interesting.
Wow. To be honist with you guys, I thought J.P. Jones Just kinda did a walking bass improve. kinda like a jazz deal. but none the less. Great composition
bobbycas420 I agree 100 percent, but I doubt Ill ever get that level.
Wooo that my grandpa! he gave me the notes to that song :) haha of course i can't read them haha

And (I know it's nowhere near Christmas but)...
What would be really sweet is you could record Ed playing this on his own so we could all 'try' and play along.

bottom line is that zep was awesome

Good job guys - best I have heard (other than the first two guys to play it). I wish I had a copy of that bass tab.
