Nice one !!! Here in South Africa we keep also Capybara's also for consuming. We only tried grilled Capybara but also heard you can cook them. Can you advise the best way how to eat them?

This Capybara sitting there and eating reminds me of nothing so much as the little fat kid that no one would pick in a gym class.

But it's remarkable how all things considered, they are the biggest living rodents on the face of the Earth and yet the previous holders (extinct giant beavers) of that title were much bigger, the size of a black bear.

Frankly I think capybaras are adorable. I know that some people have had these animals as pets (they can become very affectionate), but keeping any wild animals as pets is not a good idea and unfair to the animal.

It's kind of ironic that people argue that keeping wild animals as pets is so awful, when that's how domesticated animals came about in the first place.

I say there's nothing wrong with it, so long as you have the time, patience, resources, and knowledge necessary to care for the animal in question.
