I looked up cauldrons on Wikipedia, and was pleasantly surprised to see that Lloyd Alexander knew his Celtic mythology, because there was a Celtic legend that a cauldron could be used to reanimate dead warriors who couldn't speak (due to having no souls, like zombies) and be used to win a battle. Alexander introduced the deathless, un-killable "Cauldron-Born" soldiers in his second book.

@fuckassbitch I definitely think this one is darker both in colour and theme, however, Notre Dame could be scarier for children because it is more real (there are judges, churches, etc). This is definitely very dark though! Much more suited for older Disney kids!
