  • Am I the only that noticed you said "dont point fingers" and then spent the WHOLE SONG pointing fingers? Not to mention you stole the melody from the song "Paradise" by Pat Green.

  • ha!! Look at Tommy!!! I love this Grayson. Love it. I miss seeing you guys play. (Alita)

  • someone knows where i can find the lyrics of this track???

    thanks...

  • Fuck Nagin and his "chocolate city". Hes a racist bastard.Bush helped. Its not his fault they left the buses there and didnt get on. They wanted to stay there and loot.

  • @JawsJaws ??? you for real? Bush helped is a contradiction in terms as such. He only helped himself, his Nazi family and his Oil Baron, Wall Street & Military Industrial Complex cronies...

    God I hate ignorant people.

  • @madaiadam Yeah....wheres the oil? Dont be stupid.

  • "Yee Haw!"

  • Tommy MacLuckie is the shiznit! And my stepdad as of one week from now!!! Go stumpknockers!

  • All of us who love New orleans can appreciate and love this video. We love Grayson too , not only because he is a great writer and musician, but also because he is a beautiful human being, thanks

  • i really love Grayson Capps' songs

  • Saw him last night do this song in Tampa at Skipper's. Loved it.

  • zzzzzzzzzz

  • this song reminds me of Bobby Long(character of the movie a lovesong for Bobby Long

  • i think i could love him,,, wonder how old he is,, i ve sworn off younger men, lol

  • Not a fan of this song. Too 1800's. Lost me with the political call outs.

  • if you don't want to discuss politics, don't!

You have a freedom of speech, try using it for something besides whining.

  • Freedom of speech = freedom, you can say w/e u want kiddo, if u 'advise' others how to use, learn the word freedom

  • "I don't know what posts you've been reading, but I am not involved in a political discussion with you."

For the second time, "who said you did" or who said you were. But the singer chose ignorant word about Bush which I have addressed and no one disputed.

"I don't understand why you're asking me my favourite country or my answers for taxes and French heatwaves. I don't even know who Sharpton is!

It's called wikipedia doc com - learn!

    "have not attacked"

you singled me out & paid!

  • "What on Earth are you talking about?!"

What are you too stupid to understand? Be specific.

"I haven't even mentioned Bush here"

    who said you did?

"I really don't care whether you're conservative or communist"

    Lie

"I was just offended that you would call someone a sheep"

WRONG! You were offended because YOUR views differ.

$10 to your favorite charity if you show your predated post defending a conservative and condemning a liberal/socialist/terrorist. You have 0 answers! OWNED!

  • Apparently you are too ignorant to understand that I too have a freedom of speech here.

Tell us why you attack conservatives free speech and never attack whiners/ terrorists/communists? What is your favorite country? Name a better leader than Bush?

You defend terrorists and communists yet you cowardly evade the facts that I state; you have 0 answers to increased taxes, 0 answers to Bush's unrivaled disaster response, 0 answers to Sharpton doing less, 0 answers to the French heatwave.

  • Local Bush haters should focus on NOLA revenue & spending. All your city can do right is hustle parking $ from you.

Your grandpa paid 6% sales tax, lower state tax, and no property tax. He had plenty of jobs to pick from, clean schools for kids, no dangerous drugs.

You pay 9% (50% more), property taxes, and more. Where does it go?

You need to stop whining about Bush and discuss the losers you have elected. You need to make people commuting 1 hr/day want to live near you.

  • Bush's response to Katrina - much better than super industrious China

The smartest 95% left; 3% of those who stayed died. Looters scattered when our military heros came in & secured city; those who listened lived.

Al Sharpton whined, red state Texas opened schools to all victims and gave free school supplies, and Bush came with $, trailers (vs tents in China), $2000 for evacuators, levees, etc.

France had more death in a heatwave later in 2005.

  • samewaybricksdont - empowering Iran!

  • "He's allowed to express his opinion."

Duh, we were here to hear it.

If you want to know what Katrina would have been like without Bush and the conservative military, look at non-Capitalist Burma (Myyamar as it's called by Libtards).

Thank goodness 90% if New Orleans was intelligent enough to head the warnings of the most conservative government in the world.

  • Thank you !! I love this music:-)

  • i think it's a great video and the perfect sentiment. love grayson, love the song, love new orleans...

  • me 2

  • Sounds a bit like John Prine's "Paradise" (Muhlenberg County), don't you think?

  • You nailed it.

  • Rough times...5/5.

  • i like this song . this guy is really missing his home

  • Nice song - sad subject. New Orleans was my home all my life (45 yrs.). Now I'm in Texas and I miss NOLA!

  • This is a really nice song. And a nice performance.

  • TO: markkaminsky, I agree. Express as many opinions as you like. My last two comments were in response to yezzsiryessir13 whose comments you can read for yourself. As for the doctored footage, other than editing, I didn't see any. Doctoring means altering a photo to change it appearance from the original. It helps to have an informed opinion which is rare on YouTube.

  • The artist brought me a measure of joy in as much as he lit a candle rather than curse the darkness. With his video and song he expressed himself. Others go around without thinking caps using forms of address inappropriate for people outside of your social circle. I was evacuated from N.O. on 9/2/05 and lost relatives, friends, etc. Nobody enjoyed Katrina. There are still 100 bodies awaiting burial stored in a facility on Poydras Street.

  • YouTube is making a big mistake editorializing comments on this video by placing them out of sync with the time they originally occurred and repeating same to send your own message (editorializing).

  • ya maybe...but opinion is not bad if all can participate + you could argue the original footage is doctored.

  • What footage do you think is doctored. That is all actual footage from the Storm unfortunately. yessir13, while I agree it is terribly sad in a way I agree with Brazilwtb as the message is one of rebirth rather than resignation. ReNew Orleans

  • Enjoyed it!

  • nigga what u meen u enjoyed it? how can u enjpy that? thats my city gettin deystroyed

  • wwoz??? what's that stand for?

  • WWOZ is the absolute best radio station in New Orleans. It's a mixed format, but mostly Blues and Jazz.

  • i like your things blah blah

    check out my stuff

    blah

    love,

    dave

  • wwoz! <3

  • To hell with that "chocolate city" racist Nagin.

  • Damn! and to think that major floods could happen in a town near you on earth where people inhabit.

    A Pheomeon--Give genorously bush!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG. i REALLY love the part about bush.

  • I really like it. Capps has a very beautiful voice.

  • 4gett da voice what about da flood? all thoz dien dont that meen anything 2 u? thats my city man dis made me tear up

  • Of course it's sad. You go and tell the americans how you feel. It sad to see that your president is not doin' anything to help you people or he maybe have? I don't live in america so I don't know how it is there today.

  • That's a nice new version on the John Prine "Paradise" song

  • LOVE this and ALL his songs, can't wait till his new CD comes out.
