The correct answer is that this is a terrible problem for the world. The US is overpopulated twice over - once in the number of people and secondly in the outrageous toll of their standard of living on the planet. Then even worse - so many poor people in the US working for the ridiculous rich and corporate.

3.14 million in 2006.

2.54 million in 2006, at the newer rate, still adding people faster than in 1967, due to the now larger population base. Which certainly isn't much to accomodate, for a country with so much land and so many people.

Of course these are only mathmatical exponential model approximations, which will differ somewhat from actual census counts, also somewhat inaccurate.

Humans weren't designed to use "birth control" and God commanded us to multiply.
