Hmmmm i think the people who post "insane solos" never heard of Paul Gilbert or buckethead, i mean it may be as melodic, but atleast it actually sounds INSANE.
I did not know it was a song. But I still think it's very basic. Try this video of Vinnie Moore and give me your second thought about fast accurate picking. youtube.com/watch?v=5Wcf_j--FZc
@TheWhocares233 i tried something like this and honestly i have to disagree. but hey whatever. it's all opinion. but yeah this is insane tapping and it's really hard to do. i can't do this 100%
Is this guy related to George Lynch? I'm new to Steve Lynch, actually this is the first video I watched of him, and I just discovered him about 80 seconds ago. So please don't be rude in your reply.
i first thought its trey azagtoth from morbid angel but its steve lynch, these two guys looks like clones of each other, they tap like monsters, they have the same haircut, are they twins?
Why not just use a sequencer? It would sound the same. OK, it's impressive, but in the way that riding a bicycle on one wheel is impressive. Just cause you can doesn't make it a good idea. Lots of effort wasted on showing off...
Amazing! Don't pay attention to those who can't hear any music in this great tapping technique. He is phrasing this way (I bet you can't) and he sounds really great.
for those who think that steve is just another van halen clone...well youre wrong...this guy did his multifinger-tapping thing way before van halen even made it on the scene...i dont say, that one of them developed it earlier or is better...but the two are totally different when it comes to phrasing, vibrato, licks and riffs...and i think that if steve would have been in a band that already made it in the mid/late 70s we would praise him now along with eddie as superinfluential...
There is no video for that on Youtube, but I can tell you that Billy Gibbons, Brian May, and Frank Zappa were tapping long before EVH came onto the scene. He just did it in his own imitable way. I know Barney Kessel started tapping and he is a jazz player. I don't know, tons of guitarist did this, look up guitar tapping on Wiki. It'll get you started on the history of that.
@HighZombiesRule i know that evh didnt invent tapping but i thought that you knew a old jazz player that did complex tapping like this although not this fast
uimmm well at my highschool were not even allowed to use wikipedia for anything, its blocked, we cant even accese it, the reason being is because people can hack into it and put false information all over the site, its relativley easy to do.
They're corrected immediately, as I've done that several times for teh lulz, and if you have numerous offenses, they block your ip address. For an article like Tapping, I'm sure they're objective enough, and they must quote sources, so you can check out the sources instead of just the page. Go to your local library, or better yet, use your own computer, lol.
"Tapping was also used by Ace Frehley as early as 1975, for his live solo at the end of the song "She" during Kiss's performance on the Midnight Special. The technique would remain a part of Frehley's solos from 1977 through the Kiss reunion during "Shock Me". Of course, Ace's tapping was not at the level of this guy..
It's funny to see how much EVH influenced all these 80's guitarists. Look,he's tapping like crazy,a super strat with a single humbucker and a Floyd. The only thing that most 80's guitarists who were copying EVH weren't copying was good tone. This guy, like a lot of the other EVH wannabes used a TON of chorus.
Haha..everytime when he look at the camera while doing this tapping stuff, it's like, " Now, can you this, idiots ?"

It's eight-fingers tapping technique, but i'm not impressed by the improvisation. I think it's too straightfoward and repetitive.
By the way, it is much more difficult to pick fast and accurately than finger tapping your guitar neck.
ScareDe2 1 year ago
@ScareDe2 dude i would like to see you do eight finger tapping
algor123 1 year ago 2
@algor123
If you like eight-finger tapping just use youtube and search for it, you ll find stuff you like.
ScareDe2 1 year ago
@ScareDe2 Your comment smells of fail.
1. its not an improvisation its a song, called "Hammerhead"
2. It is constantly changing and thus repeats only a few notes and patterns but in general there isn't that much repetition.
3. Thats totally opinion I find complex tapping to be much harder than picking

True. Love Ace. I think Stanley Clarke did some tapping in the 70's. This is silly. Whatever happened to good phrasing, you know?
