  • Haha..everytime when he look at the camera while doing this tapping stuff, it's like, " Now, can you this, idiots ?"

  • Omg great tapping although video is kinda ancient and wtf is up wif his hair

  • Steve Vai and Guthrie Govan's baby,

  • Insane tapping ???

    Buckethead is insane

This is excellent because of the melody but for me Buck,,, is insane... 5 fingers on the freatboard tapping like a Formula 1

  • cant believe that mab is placed higher than Buckethead by most shredders "sweep noobs"!

4 fingers on the left hand and 4 on the right hand used on his most kickass tapping!

  • i was like, "this guitar gonna explode..."

  • he got the guns from insane tapping....

  • he did muschles only with tapping... :p

  • :49 .. ARE YOU FUCKING VIDEOTAPING THIS!

  • Rote is not talent its theory in practice and it sounds ok...but this only has feelin if ur gonna take a shit at warp speed

  • La symphnie des années 1970-1980 au grand complet!

  • He can't stop shaking his left leg because he's jizzing himself uncontrollably the tapping he's doing.

  • Yeah, there is no use to do anything now.

  • Insane ._.

  • it sounded really good when he changed key at :38 seconds

  • Hmmmm i think the people who post "insane solos" never heard of Paul Gilbert or buckethead, i mean it may be as melodic, but atleast it actually sounds INSANE.

  • Dear god....

  • WHA-- O.O"

  • not so insane for me

  • where can i find tabs?

  • :D

  • It's eight-fingers tapping technique, but i'm not impressed by the improvisation. I think it's too straightfoward and repetitive.

By the way, it is much more difficult to pick fast and accurately than finger tapping your guitar neck.

  • @ScareDe2 dude i would like to see you do eight finger tapping

  • @algor123

If you like eight-finger tapping just use youtube and search for it, you ll find stuff you like.

  • @ScareDe2 Your comment smells of fail.

    1. its not an improvisation its a song, called "Hammerhead"

    2. It is constantly changing and thus repeats only a few notes and patterns but in general there isn't that much repetition.

    3. Thats totally opinion I find complex tapping to be much harder than picking

  • @danukenator123 Hi danukenator,

I did not know it was a song. But I still think it's very basic. Try this video of Vinnie Moore and give me your second thought about fast accurate picking. youtube.com/watch?v=5Wcf_j--FZc

  • @ScareDe2 great...

  • MINDBLOWN!!!!!!~

  • awsome!

  • tabs please!

  • is he related to george lynch?

  • Such talent wasted in such a bad band.

  • @diabeticmonkey they were alright

  • Sounds like ET or something.

  • Steve Vai and George Lynch's baby

  • @EllisVavra err... doners?

  • @EllisVavra = me :D

  • Amazing.

  • Think he still remembers how to play this after all these years? lol

  • Dammit I got my face all over my keyboard

  • 2 people were jaleous, fuck them!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Awesomest scales ever. What an overlooked guitarist and band.

  • too many lynches

  • this guy is is a guitar god

  • god damn i wish i was around in the 80s :(

  • Hail EDDY VAN HEFFLIN!!!

  • sick tone

  • HOW THE FUCK IS HE DOING THAT?

  • Want insane tapping? Look at Buckethead's "finger nubbing"

  • @CyValkarion this is more difficult than even bucketheads 8 finger tapping...In my opinion.

  • @TheWhocares233 i tried something like this and honestly i have to disagree. but hey whatever. it's all opinion. but yeah this is insane tapping and it's really hard to do. i can't do this 100%

  • awesome

  • robot

  • Is this guy related to George Lynch? I'm new to Steve Lynch, actually this is the first video I watched of him, and I just discovered him about 80 seconds ago. So please don't be rude in your reply.

  • Eargasmic

  • HAMMERHEAD!!!!!!

  • Too bad Autograph was a one hit wonder. This guy is fantastic and I love his tone.

  • @ilikehairbands what was the one hit?

  • @lgcmetallica Well I was under the impression that "Turn Up the Radio" was Autograph's only hit unless someone here can prove me wrong.

  • now these are some GOOD sounding things he's playing there, not like most mindless shredding nowadays D:

  • the starting sounds like rush

  • i first thought its trey azagtoth from morbid angel but its steve lynch, these two guys looks like clones of each other, they tap like monsters, they have the same haircut, are they twins?

  • Me, you, in the bathroom of a Styx concert.

  • Isn't that the dude that was in autograph? Yeah, the guitar gives it away

  • FUCKIN INSANE. ill bet he sold his soul to the devil in order to tap like that

  • Reminds me slightly of the Jennifer Batten intro to Jeff Beck's "What Mama Said" :)

  • Now theres the thing that Chuck Norris cant do !

  • You rule Lynch!

  • his fingers dance in the guitar D:

  • pretty good, but Michael Romeo does tapping better.

  • dear youtube: STOP IT.

  • Very musical

  • I could play that....just give me 20-40 years to practise it.

  • Why not just use a sequencer? It would sound the same. OK, it's impressive, but in the way that riding a bicycle on one wheel is impressive. Just cause you can doesn't make it a good idea. Lots of effort wasted on showing off...

  • its people like you that make Michael Angelo Batio cry.

  • @BroncMcturk because we shouldnt have to rely so heavily on technology.

  • Amazing! Don't pay attention to those who can't hear any music in this great tapping technique. He is phrasing this way (I bet you can't) and he sounds really great.

  • Steve Lynch - Hammer Head

  • he used a digitech whammy

  • holy crap lol

  • Comment removed

  • Nice... I just wish he'd chillax with the reverb and chorus... It's really hard to hear what's goin on.

  • for those who think that steve is just another van halen clone...well youre wrong...this guy did his multifinger-tapping thing way before van halen even made it on the scene...i dont say, that one of them developed it earlier or is better...but the two are totally different when it comes to phrasing, vibrato, licks and riffs...and i think that if steve would have been in a band that already made it in the mid/late 70s we would praise him now along with eddie as superinfluential...

  • shut up idiot. lol

  • Well too bad, because Jazz players were doing it before either of them.

  • can you guide me to a video like that on youtube? not trying to be bitchy but im curious to actually hear the kind of jazz you described

  • There is no video for that on Youtube, but I can tell you that Billy Gibbons, Brian May, and Frank Zappa were tapping long before EVH came onto the scene. He just did it in his own imitable way. I know Barney Kessel started tapping and he is a jazz player. I don't know, tons of guitarist did this, look up guitar tapping on Wiki. It'll get you started on the history of that.

  • @HighZombiesRule i know that evh didnt invent tapping but i thought that you knew a old jazz player that did complex tapping like this although not this fast

  • Hell no, not like this. Though a person that I've seen do some crazy tapping would be Guthrie Govan.

  • uimmm well at my highschool were not even allowed to use wikipedia for anything, its blocked, we cant even accese it, the reason being is because people can hack into it and put false information all over the site, its relativley easy to do.

  • They're corrected immediately, as I've done that several times for teh lulz, and if you have numerous offenses, they block your ip address. For an article like Tapping, I'm sure they're objective enough, and they must quote sources, so you can check out the sources instead of just the page. Go to your local library, or better yet, use your own computer, lol.

  • @bassist4lif31 Yes but your high school must really suck because you cant even spell "access" properly. haha.

  • @HighZombiesRule Lets not forgot Ace Frehley..

  • "Tapping was also used by Ace Frehley as early as 1975, for his live solo at the end of the song "She" during Kiss's performance on the Midnight Special. The technique would remain a part of Frehley's solos from 1977 through the Kiss reunion during "Shock Me". Of course, Ace's tapping was not at the level of this guy..

  • Jimmy Page sortt of did it in heartbreaker... Tht's what inspired Van Halen to tap... idk I still credit Van Halen for taking it to the next level.

  • True. Love Ace. I think Stanley Clarke did some tapping in the 70's. This is silly. Whatever happened to good phrasing, you know?

  • Look up Black Napkins by Frank Zappa, a 1970's version. He taps with a pick, bro.

  • motley crue !!!!

  • He was maybe better technically but was he as influencial and groundbreaking as EVH? Don't think so.

  • What band is he from?

  • I think he's from Autograph.

  • AUTOGRAPH BRO!!1

  • dokken

  • WAIT WRONG LYNCH SORRY HAHAHA

  • betcha cant play that

  • @MrCwillies You won that bet!

  • @MrCwillies it would just take practice. Tapping is my favourite gutar technique, so this would be a fun exercise to practice.

  • @MrCwillies surely can't, but why should we?

  • It's funny to see how much EVH influenced all these 80's guitarists. Look,he's tapping like crazy,a super strat with a single humbucker and a Floyd. The only thing that most 80's guitarists who were copying EVH weren't copying was good tone. This guy, like a lot of the other EVH wannabes used a TON of chorus.

  • steve in my opinion is much better technically....So if you think steve is a wannabe he must be one godly wannabe..

  • what song is this i wanna learn it.

  • its called Hammerhead

  • is this the guy from autograph?

  • yes he is ;D

  • Comment removed

  • i've been jizz in my pants =0

  • dam... i cant even do medium on gutar hero haha

  • .... oh my god that was one of the best things ever!!!

  • hes a great tapper, i think reb beach has got him though..

  • dave celentano is a great tapper too, you should check him out if you dont know him

  • yea he is
