United is the absolutely WORST airline EVER! I swore them off in my old consulting days because everyone that works for them (that I have run into anyway) are rude a**holes, so this does not surprise me at all.

I fly them at Christmas after a 10 year boycott and it is still the same (except now they seem to be really lazy too).

I took a TWA flight in 1996. They put my wheelchair into the cargo hold and then dumped everyone's luggage on top of it, turning it into a pretzel. I spent countless hours in person, on the phone and writing letters to be compensated for my damaged wheelchair to no avail. You cannot understand how thrilled I am to see karma come to bite the airline industry - where it counts! Keep up the good work - for everyone's sake! Diana

Just wanted you to know that I sent the United Breaks Guitars link to about 10 people through my yahoo account. Different email addresses. On separate dates. At different times. NOT ONE of the messages was delivered. I have asked these people whether they got my email (they are all good friends), and they say they never received it. VERY strange.

The United Breaks Guitars video and song are great!

What I would like to know, though, are several things:

1) What are the names of the three guys singing backup?

2) Who are the other people appearing in the video? Are some of the people related to the band (wives, sisters)?

3) Last question. What is the object that is being placed on top of the guitar by the three guys with the sombreros? Is this a funeral/burial item associated with indian or mexican culture?

1. Hi Cindy and Joey - in the first song, their names are Juan, Pedro, and Herve...in the second they are Klaus, Fritz, and Gerte. ;^) Seriously, they are Dave's bandmates, and if you want to know their actual names, drop me an email... :^)

2. In the 1st video, most everyone that appears is a friend or fellow musician of Dave's...in the 2nd video there are friends, family, fans, the whole magilla!

3. I think it's just a rose - I wasn't actually there when that part was shot, though

Last night I saw the legendary Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel in concert (check him out here on Youtube) and about half way through his show, he showed off his newest guitar and said "United hasn't broke this one yet", and sang the words "United breaks guitars". Needless to say, he got a great laugh from us here in Toronto.

Loved the song AND video! Heard about it on our airline's newsletter, yup, I work for an airline too - not United! Unfortunately, most airlines have this kind of policy, including my work, it breaks my heart. Can't wait for the new video! Maybe you'll help to bring some compassion back to the airline industry!

I dont have a clipping but can tell you I first saw the vid on BBC national television and told many people to view it on utube. All of them think its brill and many (me included) have viewed and liked more vids of dave and the band since.

Hey cienanos - unfortunately, we're a poor little production company who had the good fortune to make a 3 mil+ hit video on YouTube, so aren't in a position to pay for clippings. Hopefully it'll be payment enough to know that you helped make a scrapbook that Dave can show his son (who's not even 6 months old yet) when he's older and tell him about the outpouring of love and support from folks across the globe though? Tell you what, if you're ever in Halifax, though, I'll buy you a beer! :^)
