Anarchism in Spain was very successful and the economy rose. However, the Fascists, as well as the Communists, put a halt to the anarchist movement.

There was an anarchist society in Ukraine, however Lenin & Co used them during the Russian Revolution as allies, and then killed them after.

Anarchism in France was also successful.

Sorry for being so PO'ed in my earlier responses everyone. I'm saying anarchism is unsustainable, because eventually the ruling elites will, through a 'revolution' (Co-opted by them) 'by the people' will undoubtedly take its place.

So it is possible, its just not sustainable, and therefore in my opinion a non-issue. I agree with the sentiment to a certain extent, but believe that its just a temporary band-aid that will eventually turn into an oligarchical authoritarian form of gov't. Ya know?

Anarchy to me is actually based on a primary belief in humanity and the human spirit. People tend to think of it as people robbing stores and creating chaos. Actually, it's an organised and structured antitode to such things as severe corruption and power.

This young woman who is interviewing Professor Chomsky is very unintelligent. She does not speak in complete sentences, she says "like" and "um" over and over again. Listening to this woman makes me embarrassed for Mr. Chomsky and her. On top of lacking basic eloquence she is completely unprofessional as a serious interviewer. Didn't her Journalism 101 course teach her that you are not supposed to react or show emotion in any way as a reporter giving an interview.
