I Watched this with my Gran and Remeber every single second 40 odd years later this was such a special performance and As some one mentioned Sheila was on Holby ! what talent ! thanks so much who ever posted this ! THANK YOU
Saw Sheila on Holby last night and am so glad to find this on here. I loved The Good Old Days and always looked forward to Sheila's appearances. Thanks for posting!
Very bizarrely this song 'popped' into my head today. Sheilia and my mum were friends when I was a child and I remember her teaching me the words and the routine on a summer holiday.
How it has made me smile and laugh after all these years!
Sheila Steafel was just the best of comediennes - a true talent unmatched - I saw it when first broadcast and have never forgotten it - thanks so much for the post :)
Even as a child I knew that if Sheila Steafel was on television you were in for something special, how wonderful to see this again, thanks a million for posting it !
Wonderful actress. I saw her live at the King's Head back in the 80's. She used to conclude each performance by tearing a London telephone directory in half.
Thanks so much for posting. Shame it misses the intro with Leonard Sachs explaining she is his niece - which is why he's gone to such trouble coaching her !! Why don't they make shows like this anymore !
Back in the 70's there was an entire genre of performers with impeccable skills and timing pretending to be incompetent amateurs. Sheila, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson were all masters of the craft.
Fabulous stuff,'The Good Old Days were usually on a Saturday evening, I think, anyway all my family watched and enjoyed this fantastic clean, pure entertainment... Thanks for posting this gem...
I remember seeing Sheila sing 'Never to young to know you know' on the Good OLd Days, and watching my parents roar with laughter... Brilliant stuff, both Sheila and Leonard too... Definately worth 5*'s.. this is the tops... :0)x
Total bliss - the timing is amazing and when she finally gets it right it's just gorgeous.

"The Good Old Days" was broadcast by the BBC TV channel, from The City Varieties Theatre in my home town of LEEDS, Yorkshire, England...
It was a real ey-opener to see people walking to the Theatre in Victorian/Edwardian clothes in the 1970's...
Thanks for posting this and bringing back some wonderful memories.... :)

Thanks very much for posting this performance by a wonderfully talented and, as milgreen says, under-rated artist.
