Even though one may be in the public, one should respect the views of the person(s) being photographed. The Old Order Amish do not believe in being photographed. Many are being forced into being photographed by the English because of modern technology but to all who attend Amish events please be respectfull and only take pictures of the items being sold or if this is not possible only their livestock or only their backsides. One who respects them and is in the auction business. Thanks

They in public, so they are fair game. I shoot with a zoom so as to not be conspicuous, but they video themselves at times!

Just defending my town, it is really disrespectful to take pictures or video tape our Amish. It is against their beliefs.

dude i love those auctions...but amish dont like faces on camera of any sort so in future blur it out if ya can :)
