Lmao at kid at 5:32. x] So cute. I remember when I was little and all that stuff was still there at the station. It just makes me so sad that it's all gone now. Things just aren't the same. :(
This station was the first Union station in the world, and in 1900, it had serviced 200 trains and had much more tracks going into the shed. Now it seems only 1 to 2 passenger trains a day.
Visited this about the same time when our high school jazz band from Nappanee played in the mall. Was very cool....even remember the Great Train Store. Forgot how big this place was!
When Amtrak took over in 1971, they had six trains a day. East and West National Limited, North and South Floridian, and Norht and South James Witcomb Riley, later named Cardinal.
Thanks for posting this. I really miss Indy's Union Station from the days when it was restored and used as a shopping center. It's really too bad that it's mostly empty and neglected these days.
I miss the old F40's, those were "REAL" Engines !!!

Mine was the DINASAUR of camcorders. It was a Panasonic which recorded onto a VHS tape. I've since upgraded to a Canon Mini-DV camcorder.

Someone should make an Amtrak activity for the MSTS Conrail Indianapolis route.

How many Amtraks used to go through there each day? Now there's only one inbound and one outbound a day.

That was the Hoosier State. In addition to passengers, this train is moving equipment from Amtrak's maintenence facility in Beech Grove to Chicago.

You would get a hell of a lot more hits of you put F40PH in your tags
