i love michael and his brothers & sisters equaly..there has been wrong doing on most of their parts but you can't love them any less. Michael has become better after he went solo so i guess ppl stick with that but he did just as amazing with J5 & the jackson group. I guess ppl have to understand that the J5 helped with Michael and all the families legacy. J5 was the begining to the never ending Legacy from the jacksons.<3

But Michael would never be Michael Jackson without his family. He started with them, his father developed his talent until he reached Motown. Without The Jackson five period, who knows what Michael destiny would have been. Could you imagine him doing a successful solo carrier since the age of 10. I don't think so. The J5 success was because they were 5 talented brothers performing together and Michael himself never forgot that fact.

Yes, J5 success put MJ on the map but J5 had nothing to do with the success MJ became after he left the group. MJ talent is what made him the King of Pop. J5 success let everyone know MJ could sing and he was the one who carried the group. But who he became later had nothing to do with J5. His brothers had nothing to do with Off the wall, Thriller and all the other albums that came after that. MJ could have bombed as a solo artist but the fact remains, his talent is what got him there, not J5.

@ninalabelle2005 Yeah, a lot lead singers who leave their band are not always successful. There is a few who are success. MJ was not only success as a solo artist he pioneered a lot things in the music industry. They called MJ in the 80s a one man rescue term because in the 80s music industry had falling. Sells were down and no new ideas were coming out. In fact the same is happening today. This is why when MJ died they said he gave the industry some boost because of sells of his albums.

@bluerachael1979 I agree Mike was always going to be succesful, but his phenomena wouldn't be as great without J5. Without them he would'nt have been able to hone his craft to such a level. Michael learnt many tricks of the trade and recording techniques due to the fact he was in J5. Sounds he made with his brothers must have influenced him in later years. Some of the Jacksons did have involvment in Off the Wall; listen to Working Day n Night demo, u hear Randy and Janet arguing before playing.

@kingdotian1 Oh I agree with you. MJ learned a lot from being part of J5 and also Motown. Yup I heard "working day and night demo" with randy and Janet. I love that song. Also janet lend her vocals to PYT. I totally agree part of MJ's legacy and success is partly due to J5. Joe also has a lot to do with it as well. MJ credit him a lot for teaching him how to perform on stage. I think the Jackson's all have talent in their own way. Of couse MJ was the most talented and successful of all of them

Im not accusing you of that but I'm just pointing out that Michael was greatly helped by having a brother like Randy who could play many instruments at a young age, A brother like Marlon whos added to Mikes energy when dancing etc.
