I understand why Leonid Kogan pulled those "bad smell" faces. If one's ear is keen enough all the notes on violin sound out of tune except the open strings which sound 'dead'. Wonderful violin playing is a small miracle.

There are so many sharps to account for while playing in C#, then other accidentals thrown in make it harder. C Natural is an easy key (No sharps/flats). C# Is one half step above C, so youd have to add one half step to every note. It seems easy, but reading it is hard.

-Any instrument, can be played in any key. There are no differences between instruments.

-I really wish I had perfect pitch, that would be cool.

-I don't know how I found it to be C#. Maybe he said it before..

uhh, with the string instrument thing I meant transposition, on guitar it's easy as shit, on the piano it's rather hard if you aren't a pro, which means that C# was really a bad idea.

yeah... whatever, I just thought it was the same with violins, but I understand, since there is no real way to use barre fingering (which I didn't know), it will be less comfortable without the possibility to play open strings^^
