The Taoiseach is says it's not dishonest for labour to go back on their election promises, because they were before the election and not a 'program of government'...bloody Hell! That is nothing less that openly admitting that the labour party does not see that any election pledge should have any baring whatsoever, granted such sentiments have always been the case among leaders of bourgeois parties, of which labour now is utterly beyond doubt, but you don't expect them to just admit it!
@red1917trot good comment, the way i see it is,they came around to promising this that and the other, now they have done the complete opposite, isn`t that deception ?or another name for it FRAUD
Joe Higgins (& Pearse Doherty) should stand up in the Dáil on budget day & tell Eamon Gilmore & Joan Burton that James Connolly would turn in his grave if he could see how they have turned Connolly's Socialist Libertarian Labour Party into a Right-Wing Authoritarian Party that robs the poor to enrich the elite. At the next election the people of Ireland will make sure that so-called "Labour" will get their comeuppance, just like the PD's & the Greens before them.
@optionsupdate Adams of Sinn Féin (& indeed Joe Higgins of the Socialist Party) oppose the government Bank Guarantee & advocate an "orderly default" on the bad gambling debts of the banks...in other words "burning the bondholders"

@optionsupdate Joe Higgins is Socialist Party & Pearse Doherty is Sinn Féin. The so-called Irish "Labour" Party is in my opinion beyond saving.
