That 1 cell came to life because the right biological materials came together in the right order. There were most likely trillions of other ALMOST-complete versions of the first cell-like thing that existed. DNA mutations aren't always corrected. Hence why there are mutations seen in humans, and diversity for that matter.

I assume you mean Judas or Mary, but unfortunately I can't look there because there's not Gospels written by them. I have Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...and as far as I know from reading all of those multiple times they don't speak to the earth being flat.

The bible teaches the the earth is a circle, or a sphere in other languages. It doesn't teach that the earth is flat. Could you possibly point another fault out?

seth would have been practically perfect because his parents were almost perfect, so if he married and bore children by his sisters there wouldn't have neccessarily been enough defect in their DNA to cause deformity in their kids, but their kids would have had more defective DNA, as they would have inherited that from both parents, and by the time moses came around there would have been enough genetic defects that marrying a close relative could have caused deformities CONTINUED

Unicellular asexual reproduction ..that's when one organism can self-replicate. If you understood this, it wouldn't be difficult to explain evolution to more complex organisms past the initial organism. After (yes Kent)billions of years, evolution produced new organisms by using DNA and RNA in different ways to make different proteins. These have different functions, and thus, we get new hereditary traits...and therefore, an expansion in the gene pool. From that, new species. Ignorance is bliss.

@jarak36 DNA "instructions for replication" occur because there are biological catalysts which interact with certain proteins to cause the actions of replication. That 1 cell came to life because the right biological materials came together in the right order. There were most likely trillions of other ALMOST-complete versions of the first cell-like thing that existed. DNA mutations aren't always corrected. Hence why there are mutations seen in humans, and diversity for that matter.

@jarak36 Obviously you're oblivious as to how evolution works. Evolution is change over time, to put it in its simplest terms. Humans diversify, and we as a species have not existed long enough to diversify past the possibility of producing fertile offspring. WHEN that happens (which with our exponential growth and diversity, it WILL HAPPEN, and maybe sooner than if we didn't have that), those who cannot breed with others will be classified as a new species. That's how it works dumb ass.

Coli is a bacteria which mutates yes but only on the basis that it mutates itself to survive antibiotics, not producing new traits. Evolution IS observed, though how could u test it? That doesn't make sense.

There is NO archeological evidence WHATSOEVER to support what the Bible says. That's a BOLD statement; stating that a global flood took place, that people lived to be over 900 yrs old, and that dinosaurs and humans coexisted. Not to mention that Jesus was his own father, was born of a virgin, and became a holy zombie.

The bible teaches the the earth is a circle, or a sphere in other languages. It doesn't teach that the earth is flat. Could you possibly point another fault out?

I should have mentioned in my earlier post - The original text (from my research) says sphere, not circle. I agree, a lot of people, if not everyone, thought that the earth was flat, but they didn't get that from the Bible.

The Gospels of Judas and Mary are what are considered Gnostic gospels. These books are park of the Apocryphal New Testament and are used by few denominations of the Christian faith, (Roman Catholicism being one of them).
Many denominations, including Southern Baptists (the one that Kent Hovind belongs to) do not teach anything from these alternate Gospels as the historical accuracy of these works is severely in question.

Gen1:25-27 humans are created after other animals
Gen2:18-19 humans created before other animals.
That's a contradiction. It comes from two different camps.

In the same tradition, Psalm 104:5 says, "the LORD set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved." As much as I disagree with Marxism, I still think that the best approach to organised religion is Marx's: "Religion is the opium of the people." multiplication makes it very possible. Also there wasn't anything in the DNA to make physical abnormalities possible. I mean I think God would have a plan for population growth from 2 people. After he specifically told them to be fruitful and multiply.

seth would have been practically perfect because his parents were almost perfect, so if he married and bore children by his sisters there wouldn't have neccessarily been enough defect in their DNA to cause deformity in their kids, but their kids would have had more defective DNA, as they would have inherited that from both parents, and by the time moses came around there would have been enough genetic defects that marrying a close relative could have caused deformities CONTINUED

why would the deformities be there? deformities come when two peoples DNA have the exact same defect, but seth and his sister or whoever he married whould have had few enough defects that it prolly had little effect, andthe defects did eventually show up that why they lived CNTD

Facts why Kent Hovind cannot be lying:
1) I have studied each topic and evidence he has presented, and I have found absolutely NO FLAW. All the facts he presents are all as accurate as the fact, Michael Jackson says Hee-Hee' in many of his songs.'
2) He's a true God-fearing Christian. The average Christian doesnt WANT to lie, and Hovind has stated MANY times that he wants to be RIGHT all the time.
3) When you say he's a liar, you're either confused or you're deliberately lying yourself.

These are the resons Noah's ark could not be real.
1 A ship that size that is made of wood would break in within minutes. A ship made of wood that was not even half the size of noah's ark sunk in about 10 minutes on a nice day with no waves in the ocean.
2 Animals that live is Antartica and Austrailia would not have been able to make it to the ark.

Just try and put only 8 people in charge of a zoo. They would not be able to take care of the animals.
4 They would not have been able to keep enough food to feed all the animals for a year. A lot of animals have very special diets, and can only eat certain plants or animals.
5 Kent says only babies were on the ark. That is a problem for mamals because baby mamals can only survive on their moms milk.

Try telling Stephen Hawking that the Earth is only 6000 years old! I know who I'd rather believe (Hint: it ain't Kent Hovind).
Even creationists don't seem to know the age of the Earth. Kent Hovind believes it is 6000 years old yet other creationists who have supposedly studied ALL of the evidence (regarding fossils ect) believe it is 11000 years old. What's up with that? Don't go around acting like you have a definitive answer when you are so off the mark it laughable.

Why do the greatest scientists and the most intelligent minds in the world believe the Universe was formed billions of years ago? Well for a start they don't believe in book written by man thousands of years ago and take it as the gospel...

There is no talking to the people who cant understand simple science and experimentation. the only thing that we can do is wait for the next generation and hopefully their kids will be intelligent enough to understand simple science. That is why we don't teach it in school, we want a generation of intelligent Americans, not superstitious cultists, bent on their dark age beliefs.

If anyone here is honestly interested in what science has to say about an old earth, i can ell snyone first hand why this planet is old and why there was no great flood, this is a take it or leave it opportunity. Nah, it's love because you're in the presence of your maker who loves you. If God made us, then true fulfillment is found in his presence. As Jesus said, he came to give life to the full. I can personally testify to the fullness of life being in knowing Christ.

That's the thing, you don't have to earn it. The point the bible makes is that we're all sinners deserving eternal cut off from God in hell. But God sent Christ as a sacrifice to take away our sins, so when we believe in him we are forgiven and can go to heaven when we die.

That is a reward. You have to do something to get something. Your idea is "I believe in god and he will reward me with heaven, I dont and he will punish me" that is the whole idea of the bible, if you earn your way into heaven (and it says it a few times) or you are punished into hell. it is the ultimate reward. but it is not a gift, a gift is given selflessly, a reward is paid for. If it were a gift, it would be given to everyone, no matter what they believe. It is a reward

There is no work involved in getting into heaven. God gives you eternal life when you believe that Christ died for you. This is different than working for a reward. Why don't you believe Christ died for your sins?

That is a reward, you are paid for something you do, you are rewarded for something you do, that is a reward.
Reward - Noun - something given or received in return or recompense for service, merit, hardship, etc
If you believe in God you are rewarded with heaven, that is a reward, pure and simple. you are rewarded for believing in god, and if you dont, you are punished

Yeah, I believe there is reward in heaven for the good we do as christians. But if we rely on those good works to get into heaven... we won't get in. We can't go to heaven by our works. That is why Jesus died! He wouldn't need to have died for us if we could be made right with God by works.

Yeah, he might reward you for works, like when Jesus tells us to go away by ourself and pray to the Father in private, he promises that we will be rewarded for that. But salvation itself is the gift of God, given to us because we can't earn it. We are lost and need a saviour. We are sinful, yet Christ died for all sin.

I think the main difference between people who believe in the evolutionary theory and all of its components and people who believe in creation is creationists are prepared to accept all of the unknowns based on faith. Evolutionists simply can't hack that. They have to have numbers, research, fossil records, etc. and they think that validates their philosophy. All Kent is doing is pointing out how much fallibility still exists within the theory of evolution as a whole.
