  • Hey, thank you so much for making this video. I needed to learn how to make a beach glass necklace, but all the other videos did not explain enought how to do this. I recently made two of them!

  • @MegaHockeyRocker Awesome!

  • very helpful thanks very much. is it just me or is beach glass hard to find when your looking for it? i used to stumble on plenty :)

  • @TheMeleemonkey It's getting rarer and rarer! When we were kids we found it by the bucketfull... now with all the plastic bottles and the "keep the planet clean" mentality, it's very scarce. Most of my glass comes from underage drinking down at the shore, best I can tell ;)

  • Thank you very Much! Great Tutorial! Just got back from the beach with treasures!

  • @colmag03 Yay!! I'd love to see what you make!

  • Can you go slower????

  • @638Malia Sorry I can't slow the video down but there's an accompanying text/image tutorial linked at the top of the page!

  • can you tell me what kind of wire is that...and size..? i also started experimenting with that... :)

  • @PedjaUnderMySkin It's what's called Artistic wire (very affordable) and I think at the beginning it mentions 20 or 22 ga. Whatever feels most comfortable in your hands!

  • @Nightingayle thanks!

  • Love your work

  • thank you very well done, I wanted to know how to wire wrap my beach glass.

  • @annempleasants You're super welcome! PDF tutorial coming soon as well :)

  • just fabulous....you were very dextrous with that wire and i would lovr to know where you purchased your tools????? They are well manufactured!thanks

    Marianne

  • @frograo I got my Lindstroms from urbanmaille but they only sell Eurotools now. Just about as good!

  • thanks i live in okinawa lots of sea glass and no money, is that silver wire?? think you are ggreat

  • @cooperviews It's called Artistic Wire - it's got a silver plate but it also has a coating so it doesn't tarnish. Very usable and affordable!

  • Awesome! thank you... this would be great to do with my teens!

  • @latinapheonix Have fun!!

  • I really want to really thank you for posting this tutorial! When I lost my job, I was looking for a way to make a couple of bucks and I now have a small business making wire-wrapped jewelry. My facebook page is Flotsam & Whimsy.

  • @queen1maeve Oh, good for you!! Enjoy :)

  • ohhh finally a video for wrapping i -was looking for -thank you! i will try:)

  • @blackestcat1111 You're very welcome!!!

  • Nice. Love it!!!!!

  • Dam! That's good! Thanks for the ideas!

  • loved it, can you tell me what size wire do you use please?

  • @sarahcoiles Sorry for the late reply - it's 20 or 22 ga, depending on the size of stone you have. Smaller wire is easier to use BUT it also is a little less sturdy.

  • Easy to follow... my only suggestion is that you slow it down just a tiny bit so one can see exactly which way your turning and what-not. But thanks for getting me started on the easies! I'm gonna experiment...

  • @lgeorg20 Well would you believe that I DID slow it down? I felt like I was in agony going THIS slow :) BUT there will be a PDF tutorial on the way in the next little while as well. Keep an eye out!

I'd love to see what you experiment with!

  • Thanks lov. you did me a nice favor and now i can wrap the pendant I broke yesterday.

  • @chenali You're quite welcome!

  • That's really pretty! Great tutorial~ easy to follow except the the word boxes need to be there a little more time. but i liked that there was no sound or distracting music.

  • @miss415x Thanks! I find it difficult to gauge how long it takes to read things, I'm used to reading really quickly. I'll try to adjust the text boxes!

  • OMG! you make it look like a breeze! thank you for this video!! :)

  • @RejTaiuba2011: Yes indeed I do! My Etsy store is here: etsy.com/shop/gaylebird

  • Hello, I was just wondering whether you sell these? Or whether you know of anyone who would sell these for a few pounds? Thankyou and great video!

  • oh my gosh, you have no idea how helpful this is!! :DDDDDDD

  • @ker8: No particular reason! Just how the wire fell aroundthe glass, is all.

    Good luck!

  • @Nightingayle At last - an easy way to wire wrap! I sooo lack the basic skills that any number of my pieces look so junior; at least the beach glass art now won't look awful. Thankyou!

  • thanks for this! before watching this video, i had been drilling my beach glass, but i just couldn't bring myself to drill some of the nicer ones, mainly out of fear of breaking them (why i decided to wrap);

    i tried the wire wrapping about 5 times today, & for the first four i used wayyyy too much wire, lol; i think my pieces of glass must have been smaller;

may i ask though, why make the Y shape at the top? does it serve a particular purpose?

  • Nicely done, VERY nicely done. Thank you for sharing. This is Sooooo much easier than how I was taught. Sweet!

  • Great tutorial! Thank you.

  • Good luck! I wouldn't discredit a course though - actually having somebody show you in person can be extremely beneficial, especially when you're just getting started. There are lots of little things that could go wrong that an instructor could help you with.

    Have fun!

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I'm unemployed and looking for something that I can do to sell and you just saved me $35 for a course. I've bookmarked your demo so that I can pause it and go along step by step. I'm lucky to live on the shoreline where we have some beautiful shells and I'm going to try the technique with those.

  • Making jewelry is one of the coolest things you can do! And it coms in handy so often! I used some beautiful old stones to make a necklace for my mom on mother's day!

  • You're welcome you guys! When I was starting out 15 years ago, it was impossible to find any tutorials for wire-wrapping; I had to fend for myself. I thought I could help out!

  • Wow. great tutorial. I wish I found this when I first started with wire wrapping. It may have saved me lots of frustration. Thanks for posting this!

  • Thanks for the tips. Just recently wrapped a heart stone and the wire are loose, the tightening trick will help out a lot!

  • Ha! Actually, it was on a tripod *right* in front of my face. It was a little difficult peering around it to see what I was doing! :)

  • Is the camera on your head?

  • that looks so pretty! can't wait to try it :D

  • thank you for not misleading in your title and having me link to a pay tutorial.

just what i was looking for, great outcome!

  • nice

  • This is awesome...heading to the beach to see what I can find...thank you for sharing this...so excited to start a project now....

  • This is a 22 ga wire although most people use 20ga as it's easier to come by in craft stores!

  • thank you, LOVING IT! I'll try it, what gauge wire is this?

  • Maravilhoso!!!! Parabéns!

  • I'll see what I can do!

  • Hi Gayle, It's Thitima again :) Thanks for the video. You really need to come up with more of this! Especially those beautiful earrings you've made. I'm really interested in how create such an art.

    Will be waiting :)
